Anatomical position- a standing posture with the arms at the side and the palms of the hands facing forward 2. Supine- lying on back with face upward 3. Prone- lying on stomach with face downward Movement Terms 1. Adduction- motion toward the midline of the body 2. Abduction- motion away from the midline of the body 3. Inversion- when the sole of the foot is turned inward (ankle movement) 4. Eversion- when the sole of the foot is turned outward (ankle movement) 5. Lateral flexion- bending of a body part away from the midline 17. Pronation- a movement that turns the palm of the hand downward, like it was emptying a bowl of soup 18.
