WORD PROCESSING USING MS-WORD 2007 08 Giice Word 2007 Word processing this is the processing of creating, manipulation, editing, formatting of text and printing out of the created document using word processing software. Word processing is a processing that starts with the selection of the right software that suits the required functions that are needed in the production of the document. Word processing is done using a special software known as a word processor. There are a number of word processing software on market today. These include: Applied computing for schools and calleges Inserting a new columns You can insert new columns to an existing table through the following steps: Click in the cell of the table where a new column is to be added. Right click and select insert from the short cut menu Then select the preferred option of adding columns to the right or the left of the current cursor passion. Inserting a new row You can insert new rows to an existing table through the following steps: Click in the cell of the table where a new row is to be added. Right click and select insert from the short cut menu Then select the preferred option of adding rows to the top or the bottom of the current cursor passion. Paragraph stvling Paragraph styling is a function that helps a user to create one format that has various formatting styles that can be attached to paragraphs. This function is normally used to when dealing with a document of many pages. It makes it easy for a user to change attributes of font, font size. Font color, text indent and line spacing of a particular style created. The hidden window located under the change Styles button helps the user to display the default styles that are in the software. This is the normal size of the printable paper. Document sizes vary in sizes. This is done by selecting the text or word whose color needs to be edited or changed and select the font color Notable: all the above functions can be changed at one using the font dialog box. This can be done by selecting the text or words to be affected, then use a keyboard combination Ctrl + D this will call the font dialog box that can be used to change the font, font styles, font sizes, font color, underline styles, and other additional effects. The effect of the attributes attached will be visible in the preview section at the bottom of the dialog box. The effect will take effect on the text when you click ok button to dismiss the dialog box. | nites PARAGRAPH EDITING A-paragraph is a combination of sentences. All the attributes that apply to characters apply to sentences and paragraphs. Paragraph alignment Paragraphs normally flash with the left margin. The alignment buttons are located in the Home Tab after the font section. Text indenting can be done by pressing the T48 key on = = your keyboard or by pressing the indent button in the Home tab under the eed oe paragraph section. Inserting a picture Pictures are used to put emphasis or to further visually explain a phenomenon. Images / pictures can be acquired by creating them using graphical software, downloading them or capturing them using scanners or digital cameras. The inserted image normally appear with holders in the sides. These are used to resize the image horizontally or vertically. The rotation tool that appears in the top middle section of the holders is used to rotate the image or picture. Inserting shapes Ms-Word enables one to create his graphics using shapes. This feature is found in the insert tab under the illustrations sections. Shapes can be ordered in layers to create an image. Do the same for the ears Click to select a line from the shapes and draw the line to represent the mouth. USING TABLES Tables are used for proper placement of data and figures in a document. Tables are inserted in a document by clicking the insert table and clicking at the table button. This will activate a grid of columns and rows. To insert a table, you need to move your mouse over the grid of columns and rows to have the table preview in the document window. A click to have the selection confirmation made.
