Tamsi Date: May 29, 2021 Subject: EDS 113 Course: PEC Set-B Describe each type of portfolio, as follows: 1. Working Portfolios Awork portfolio is a curated collection of a job candidate's best work. Writers would collect their best articles; web designers would have samples from their best websites; and teachers would put together the student work samples and lesson plans they're most proud of.Also work portfolio is a collection of work samples that shows your capabilities to prospective employers. Job seekers might have an online portfolio, a paper portfolio, or both. Working portfolios serve as a holding bank for students‘ work in progress before it moves into a display or an assessment portfolio or is sent home with the student. This type of portfolio can help the students reflect on their work, can help teachers assess students‘ needs, and can be presented to parents during parent-teacher conferences to demonstrate students‘ growth over time or present the evidence of the children's strengths and weaknesses. 2. Display Portfolios -Display or Showcase portfolios are designed to display a learner's best quality of work. This might be to highlight student success, or to showcase a variety of accomplishments a student has achieved over a period of time. In showcasing a student's work, this portfolio allows them to describe and tell their own story. Display, showcase, or best work portfolios contain samples of the student's best work. Selected by the student, the pieces that have made the students proud and that demonstrate their highest level of achievement can be presented to the students’ parents, siblings, or the teacher. Best work portfolios can be collected over several academic years so that the student may also display the work to the next year's teacher. High school students can also use portfolios during interviews with prospective colleges or employers. 3. Assessment Portfolios -Assessment based on the systematic collection of learner work (such as written assignments, drafts, artwork, and presentations) that represents competencies, exemplary work, or the learner's developmental progress.
