As a person we set our goals, dreams, and philosophy in life. And as a person my own philosophy in life is always be grateful. In my journey in this world I see something new and something old that are all special contributions adding to the world around me. Each one no matter what personality, colour, or appearance he or she has is a special gift for me. I’m so grateful that I appreciate what I have and who I have in taking this journey, because the future can take it all away from me anytime. I am very thankful to have supporting parents in my life who listen and support me and that all I’m grateful for. Being grateful improves my decision making, my response is that not only will a grateful attitude help it is essential. In fact, it is precisely under crisis conditions when we have the most to gain by a grateful perspective on life. In the face of demoralization, gratitude has the power to energize. In the face of brokenness, gratitude has the power to heal. In the face of despair, gratitude has the power to bring hope. In other words, gratitude can help us cope with hard times and when we make decisions. In making decision being grateful is our choice why? Well, When I was around 10 years old and I was visiting here in Cebu with my family as the moment we’re walking at the side of the street a saw a little boy probably at the same age of mine but the very different is that he’s clothes are rip and full of dirt he looked undernourished, who had a head inside a trash can, maybe he’s looking for a thing so he could sale it to buy food or toys. When he finally come out he look at me and smile and I don’t know what to do so I just smile back at him. I want to help him but at that time I’m just a child like him I don’t have food and money with me. As we go to eat our lunch at the restaurant I could stop thinking about the boy I saw I couldn’t get over the fact that I couldn’t have done anything for that young boy, as I look around there were so many options to eat and there’s a couple complaining about there not being enough choice. Many years had passed I learned a lot one of the thing I learned is to remain grateful for absolutely anything I have. A L Y A N A M . L A U R E BSN2-A
