Narrative Report “Dengue Fever and Covid 19 Vaccine Awareness and Preparedness “ Today we have an interesting topic about on Dengue Fever & Covid 19 Vaccine Awareness and Preparedness. I woke up early because I'm to excited to learn new lesson. Because of the COVID 19 pandemic the paradigm of health promotion have been lead us to use new technology. Using this particular platform we are able to reach out more students and stakeholders to address this challenges. In addition aside from dengue, awareness for vaccine was also discussed. The guest speaker is Dr. Jose Christopher D. Custodio. He gave an inspirational to everyone. Dengue fever is a mosquito-borne illness that occurs worldwide in tropical and subtropical regions. Mild dengue fever is characterized by a high fever and flu-like symptoms. Dengue hemorrhagic fever, also known as severe dengue fever, can result in severe bleeding, a sudden drop in blood pressure shock and death. Every year, millions of people become infected with dengue. Southeast Asia, the western Pacific islands, Latin America, and Africa are the most affected by dengue fever. However, the disease has spread to new areas, including local outbreaks in Europe and the southern United States. The rainy season in the Philippines lasts from June to October, and it is during this time that the number of dengue cases typically increases. During this time period in 2020, the world was facing the threat of SARS-CoV-2 infection. Coronavirus disease 2019 and dengue viral infections have similar clinical and laboratory findings, including fever and thrombocytopenia, and there have been reports of SARS-CoV-2 and arthropod-borne virus coinfection. My experience in this pandemic was my family and I were infected with COVID-19 last month. We didn't panic, but we were on high alert and had consciously prepared for such a scenario. Symptoms on the first few days included loss of taste and smell, as well as muscle pain, which we alleviated with pain relievers. Fortunately, we did not experience any respiratory symptoms. When we first received the test results, we were taken aback. It was also concerning that we couldn't predict potential health deterioration. There was an unending flow of information about the virus, and the more we saw in the media and on digital platforms, the more perplexed we became. COVID 19 and Dengue symptoms are similar. Sometimes all of the dengue patients was suspected to have covid. There is confusion between the two. Dengue is spreading because of population growth, poor sanitation, changing virus transmission dynamics, large mosquito populations, lack of political attentions and resources. If we really want to see the real percent of positive, the government should test more people. We need more budget for tests because there are some people who have not enough money. According to the data there is 3x increase of infection for hospitals. The reason is because the facilities is not enough. They are understaffed. There is no cure or vaccine for dengue. Some said that tawa tawa can cure dengue but there is no scientific basis about this. I got vaccinated today for my protection and for my family. Because of that experience I will be more careful to the people I’m talking. We do have a lot of things to be back on normal again. Always wear a mask, Covid is still here. INSIGHTS COVID-19 vaccines were created using science that has been around for a long time. Vaccines are not being tested. They went through all of the clinical trial stages. Extensive testing and monitoring have demonstrated that these vaccines are both safe and effective. It received and continue to be subjected to the most stringent safety testing in US history. Vaccines save millions of lives each year. The development of safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines is a huge step forward in our global effort to end the pandemic and get back to doing more of the things we enjoy with the people we care about. Vaccines work by imitating an infectious agent viruses, bacteria, or other microorganisms that can cause disease. This 'teaches' our immune system to respond to it quickly and effectively. Vaccines have traditionally accomplished this by introducing a weakened form of an infectious agent into our bodies, allowing our immune systems to form a memory of it. This way, our immune system can quickly identify and combat it before it causes us harm. Some COVID-19 vaccines have been designed in this manner. Other COVID-19 vaccines have been developed using novel methods known as messenger RNA, or mRNA, vaccines. We should not be afraid on vaccines.
