Dr. Guizano St., Capihan, San Rafael, Bulacan College of Criminal Justice Education I N T R O D U C T I O N In order to prepare students for the workplace and their future careers, on- the-job training is a required component of college curriculum. It is a form of skill development where a person picks up the necessary knowledge via actual job experience. On-the-Job Training is a method that students are exposed to various workplace scenarios in order to offer them the chance to put into practice the concepts and skills that they have learned in the classroom. Additionally, functioning in a real-world workplace environment aids students in gaining pertinent information and abilities. OJT is crucial for teaching students about their chosen careers as well as for exposing them to the realities of the workplace. The real work associated with the course they are taking will be presented to the students. Additionally, it enables individuals without any prior expertise to work while learning. On-the-Job Training enables the student to put what he has learned in school into practice and learn more about his chosen area. It aids in increasing the trainee's level of competence. Naturally, a pupil who is capable enough will be able to complete tasks satisfactorily. One's professionalism in interacting with others is enhanced by this course of action. After the course, the learner will be equipped to deal with circumstances appropriately and to know how to get along with his coworkers. Additionally, he will be able to get along with everyone and work effectively in a team. OJT also strengthens the student's discipline and critical thinking skills as they complete their training in running an organization. He will become better at making wise selections and assessing important variables. Future professionals can better prepare for their future professions by receiving suitable on-the-job training. Even the minor things that the students discovered during their on-the-job training can be used when they are already employed. Students will get social as well as intellectual training. They won't have any issues with how they operate or interact with people going forward. The opportunity to fully immerse oneself in his chosen sector, gain experience, and develop the skills required for the industry of his choice is also provided to the trainee. Working with knowledgeable people will allow you to see the project done correctly. Republic of the Philippines ERHARD SCIENCE COLLEGE INC. Dr. Guizano St., Capihan, San Rafael, Bulacan College of Criminal Justice Education BUREAU / AGENCY P R O F I L E SAN ILDEFONSO POLICE STATION PROVINCE OF BULACAN The Philippine National Police (PNP) originated from the Philippine Constabulary or the PC, which was inaugurated on August 8, 1901, establishing it as an insular police force under the American regime. On August 8, 1975, Presidential Decree no. 765 was issued, establishing the Philippine Constabulary Integrated National Police or the PC/INP as the country’s national police force. These fragmented and diverse local police units were integrated into a national police force with the Philippine Constabulary as its nucleus. After the People’s Revolution in 1986, a new Constitution was promulgated providing for a police force, which is “national in scope and civilian in character.” Consequently, Republic Act No. 6975 entitled, “An Act Establishing the Philippine National Police under a Reorganized Department of the Interior and Local government (DILG),” was signed into law on December 13, 1990, which took effect on January 1, 1991. Subsequently, the PNP was operational on January 29, 1991, whose members were formerly the PC and the INP and the absorption of the selected members from the major service units of the Armed Forces of the Philippines such as the Philippine Air Force Security Command, the Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine Navy, and the Philippine Army. Thus, to further strengthen the PNP into a highly efficient and competent police force, Republic Act No. 8551 entitled “PNP Reform and the Reorganization Act of 1998” was enacted on February 17, 1998, amending certain provisions of Republic Act No. 6975. Republic of the Philippines ERHARD SCIENCE COLLEGE INC. Dr. Guizano St., Capihan, San Rafael, Bulacan College of Criminal Justice Education PNP BADGE & SEAL Lapu-Lapu Hero – The great Filipino hero of Mactan, the prototype of the best and most noble in Filipino manhood who is the symbol and embodiment of all the genuine attributes of leadership, courage, nationalism, self-reliance and a people-based and people powered community defense. The benevolent and heroic warrior who derived added strength from a cohesive, determined and loyal people is today a fitting symbol and a prototype as well of people power to preserve our values, customs, traditions, way of life and the rule of law thru a solidly community-based police system. Lapu-Lapu also personifies for us today civilian constitutional authority. Laurel – Green Laurel with 14 leaves, symbolizes the 14 Regional Commands. It is also a symbol of the honor, dignity and the privilege of being a member of a noble organization where the call to public service is par excellence a commitment to public trust. Shield – The symbol of the Philippine Constabulary, the first National Police by virtue of Organic Act No. 175, enacted by the Philippine Commission on 18 July 1901. The Philippine Constabulary for the close to 90 years of service to the nation has performed with honor, professionalism and courage. The PC has carved out a large part of the glorious pages of Philippine history, as attested by its proudly and deservedly garnering 86 of the 92 “Medals of Valor” the highest honor that a grateful Filipino nation can bestow on its gallant sons in the service of the Republic. Most appropriately therefore, the Philippine Constabulary became the nucleus of the Integrated National Republic of the Philippines ERHARD SCIENCE COLLEGE INC. Dr. Guizano St., Capihan, San Rafael, Bulacan College of Criminal Justice Education Police in 1975 to nurture the then embryonic concept of the nationalization of the country’s local police forces. Three Stars – Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao and the 1,700 islands and the territorial integrity wherein the National Police must enforce the law and maintain peace and order with professionalism, zeal and dedication in keeping with the highest ideals and traditions of service to our country and people. Service • Honor • Justice – Added distinct ideals for the officers, men and women of the PNP to ensure efficiency, integrity, cohesiveness, camaraderie and equanimity to enhance community acceptance and support to attain its mission of peace keeping and law enforcement. Sun – Symbolize the flowering, maturing and ultimate realization of the glorious evolution of the PC/INP into a National Police Organization – “national in scope and civilian in character” – as enshrined in the 1986 Constitution. The Traditional light rays which represent the fightingest provinces whose ideals of courage and patriotism the members of the National Police must possess. Philippine Monkey Eating Eagle The National Bird – symbol of swiftness and ferocity, power, courage and immortality. PNP Shield – Symbol of protection of all citizens. Three Stars – Stands for Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao which constitute the Republic’s Territorial Integrity over which the PNP must enforce the law and maintain peace and order with professionalism, zeal and dedication in keeping with the highest ideals and traditions of service to God, Country and People. Eight Sun Rays – Represents the eight (8) provinces whose ideals of courage, gallantry patriotism led to their revolt against Spain. Lapu-Lapu – Symbolizes the bravery of the Philippine National Police. Service, Honor, Justice – Service is the vibrant and cogent deeds and actions in response to the needs and wants of the people in distress: Honor could be the overriding criterion and consideration in the performance of their entrusted task or mission: and Justice dispensed to everyone whatever is due to him without favoritism or discrimination of any sort. But before that is the reading of the bible verse of the day lead by a pastor or a religious leader. I also learned that not only the PNP shall enforce the law but also all related law enforcement agencies and agents of the government, they are also tasked with the prevention and controlling of crimes, to maintain peace and order, and ensure public safety and internal security with the active support of the community. The Police Officers serve to maintain law and order in local areas by engaging in interactive policing such as patrolling (by foot or by car), by protecting members of the public and their property against threats (criminals), the prevention and suppression of crime commission, and reducing the fear of crime commission by the public and improving the quality of life for all citizens. Dr. Guizano St., Capihan, San Rafael, Bulacan College of Criminal Justice Education they kept on encouraging and motivating me to study hard and to do my best always. I won’t forget the officers who challenged not just my skills and abilities but also my patience. They were the kind of person who wants everything to be done instantly and correctly. They don’t like having doubts. But with that experience that I had with all of them, I am so thankful to them because they taught me to be more patient and to be confident of what I know is right and not to have doubt about what I can do. All of the people I have worked with during my On-the-Job Training are all very inspiring. They all left a piece of advice to me that I will surely keep in my mind and in my heart for the rest of my life. I really had a very meaningful and memorable On-the-job Training at Philippine National Police, San Ildefonso Police Station, San Ildefonso Bulacan. Though I already finished working there as an intern, I am looking forward to working with them, not as a trainee anymore, but as an Agent of the Government and a Law Enforcer in the FUTURE. Republic of the Philippines ERHARD SCIENCE COLLEGE INC. Dr. Guizano St., Capihan, San Rafael, Bulacan College of Criminal Justice Education C O N C LU S I O N Experience is the best teacher there is, absolutely no exception. I utilized this on-the-job training as a foundation toward achieving my lifelong objective of becoming a law enforcer. I was motivated by the advice provided to take my academic endeavors more seriously and deliberately. I received encouragement to work harder on my academics. I'm driven to pursue a career like those in law enforcement since the Bureau from which I obtained my training, they have provided me with a glimpse into what they do and as to what I would be too. Despite the brief duration of my training, the experience was nevertheless quite beneficial. The training boosted my sense of competence and laid the groundwork for me to someday be an exceptional worker. As a student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Criminology, it had a profound impact on me. I felt truly inspired. I was able to hone my persuasive abilities in both words and deeds. I gained an understanding from this program how important it is to be knowledgeable about as well as passionate about everything that you do. As a student, all I can do right now is study as much as I can in class, find inspiration, appreciate the road I'm on, and give anything I can to accomplish the greatest effort while maintaining a positive mindset. I came to the realization that I needed to sharpen my academic concentration and offer everything I had. Knowing that one can have accomplished something is also incredibly heartwarming, and it is even more heartwarming when others are so happy of what you have done, as I experienced during my on-the-job training. It influenced me to consider everything I do in my daily existence as a student today and as a professional in the future with greater grit and competitiveness. My on-the-job training has been and will continue to be incredibly beneficial to me as a fourth-year student taking up the course of bachelor of science in criminology. It truly prepared me an overview of what life is like in the real world and a hint of what is to come once I graduate. Republic of the Philippines ERHARD SCIENCE COLLEGE INC.
