An overview of network operating systems (nos) and network software. Nos enables multiple computers on a network to access shared files and printers, while network software helps set up and build networks, provides access to network services, and enables administrators to manage users and data storage locations. Examples of nos include microsoft windows server 2016, microsoft windows server 2008, unix, linux, mac os x, novell netware, and bsd. Network software has become more adaptable with the introduction of software-defined networking (sdn), which isolates software from hardware.
