Acentos You can use the following keys to place accents on vowels. (You must hold down the Alt key and type in the numbers at the same time. If you are using the number key pad make sure the number lock is on): Alt 160 = á Alt 164 = ñ Alt 166 = ª Alt 130 = é Alt 165 = Ñ Alt 167 = º Alt 161 = í Alt 168 = ¿ Alt 162 = ó Alt 173 = ¡ Alt 163 = ú Alt 144 = É You can also use CTRL + ‘ and then the letter (a) = á For MAC: Hold down option/alt and press ‘e’ and then press the letter you want the accent to appear on. For capital letters hold down shift at the same time and for ‘ñ’ hold down option/alt and press ‘n’ and then press ‘n’ again. Spell Check To spell check in Spanish: 1. On your top menu, select “Tools” 2. Then select “Language” 3. Select “Set language” 4.
