Deutsch 1105 Herbst 2008 Prüfung: Kapitel 2 1. Listening: a. Jörg and Tina have just moved into a new apartment. Answer as many of the questions as you can in German or English about the conversation pertaining to the new living arrangement. You must answer 3 of 5 questions correctly to receive full credit. i. Review: question words (wo, wer, wie, was, etc.) 2. Vocabulary: a. Identify five objects or pieces of furniture you see in the picture of Ulla’s house. Include the definite article with the singular and plural forms for each item. i. Review: formation of plurals, list of nouns from the vocabulary list at the end of chapter 2. b. Complete several sentences with different, appropriate adjectives. i. Review: list of adjectives from the vocabulary list at the end of chapter 2. 3. Grammar: a. Refer back to the drawing of Ulla’s house in part 2.a. Write sentences describing four of the different activities you see there. i. Examples: 1. Jemand (someone, 3rd person sing.) liest ein Buch. 2. Jemand schwimmt. 3. Jemand läuft. b. What does Ulla not have in her house? What do you not have where you live? What do your friends not have? Answer these questions by completing each sentence with (1) the correct forms of the verb haben, (2) the correct form of kein, and (3) an object or part of the house. i. Example: 1. Du hast kein Sofa. c. Insert the appropriate form of dieser or welcher in the provided sentences/ questions. 4. Reading: a. Read the newspaper ad placed by a student. Answer the provided questions in English. 5. Writing: a. You have just moved into a new apartment and need a new desk and a new lamp. You go to a department store to buy these things. Write a seven to eight line dialogue between you and the salesclerk. Be sure to ask how much the items cost. You may not want to buy them if they’re too expensive! 6. Culture:
