BRIGADA SKWELA ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT Name of Personnel: HONEY B. BONGALON Division: MISAMIS ORIENTAL Position: TEACHER II Month: AUGUST The Department of Education (DepED) conducted the 2022 Brigada Eskwela. This is the National Schools Maintenance Week that aims to bring together all education stakeholders to participate and contribute their relentless time, effort, and resources in preparation for the opening of school year particularly in public schools. As a newly hired public school teacher, I am grateful for this kind of experience wherein I witnessed how this tradition bring people together in terms of “bayanihan and volunteerism” between and amongst the school and the community. On the first week of Brigada, I attended the Kick-Off Ceremony together with the faculty, staff, parents, LGU’s, and stakeholders. It really shows how supportive all the people who are present on that day despite in their busy schedules. We teachers of Medina National Comprehensive – Senior High School are in owe with how successful the opening of Brigada Eskwela ended. We also proceeded on faculty meeting after the program for an effective implementation of the Brigada Eskwela and for additional instruction. We were appointed with our individual tasks in which committees we belong, and I was under the committee of constructing and preparing of Letter, Invitation, and Narrative Report. After that, I also able to present our RPMS and IPCRF. We started writing and encoding the letters which will serve as an invitation for the LGU’s and stakeholders which we utmost needed in order to have a successful opening of Brigada Eskwela. Indeed, their support and valuable presence is a huge help not just for a safe environment in preparation for face-to-face classes but also a safer and united community. We printed the Letters and prepared it so we can hand in it personally to them later in the afternoon. Gladly, we are able to give the letters to the Mayor’s Office, Vice Mayor’s Office, BFP, PNP, BJMP and other local government units of Medina. The next day we continued to deliver the letters of invitation to the other LGU’s and invitations to other LGU’s, offices, and alumni of Medina National Comprehensive High School to show their support for this year’s Brigada Eskwela and Brigada Pagbasa. We also started to make a draft for Brigada Pagbasa program. In preparation for the upcoming Brigada Pagbasa, we also started to set up the physical arrangements and concepts for the said activity. The next day, we attended a meeting together with the Junior High School Faculty and Staff for a successful and unified Brigada Eskwela 2022. We also continued to deliver the letters of invitation to the other visitors and alumni for this year’s Brigada Eskwela and Brigada Pagbasa. We also continued the draft program for the Brigada Pagbasa and also spent our remaining time for the changes that we can do to add up and beautify our Reading Hub. Then in the last day of the week, since we’re done with the Letters of Invitation, I assisted the enrollees for the School Year 2022-2023 by receiving their requirements and credentials for the enrollment and assisted them also on where and what they’re going to do in support to our Brigada Eskwela. We also finalized the draft program for the Brigada Pagbasa and visited and checked our Reading Hub to make some changes and improvements. In continuation of the second week of Brigada Eskwela, the opening of Brigada Pagbasa took place and I was the co-assistant of our Brigada Pagbasa Coordinator. I also assisted the LGU’s and other visitors who spend their utmost effort and time to give their utmost support for this timely and relevant activity. I was also assigned to prepare for the opening prayer. I also demonstrate to students on “how to create a sample bookmark” of their own. Then followed by putting their output for display and presentation. Later in the afternoon, I visited my classroom to clean the dirt and dust as preparation for the upcoming school opening for S.Y 2022-2023. The next day, I visited our Reading Hub for Brigada Pag-basa and assisted the Alumni visitors of Medina National Comprehensive High School-Senior High School to show their unending support to the school. They also participated in doing their own bookmarks and display it together with the other bookmarks made by our very participative and active students. After this one, we were able to transferred and brought our things in our respective classrooms to at least clean some areas that needed to clean specially the floor and windows. We also cleaned the comfort room for students that is right next to our classroom. The third day of the week, we started our day with a very informative and reliable source of information about health and awareness conducted some experts of their field and titled as MNCHS-Cares. After that, we then proceed to sending and handing the letters of permission to the chosen five barangays and two power company (North, South, Cabug, Bulua, Duka, Merwasco, and Moresco) as we ask for their support to set up a mini reading corner as part of the Brigada Pagbasa activity. Later then we participated for the opening of “GALAW PILIPINAS” dance together with the students and faculty with other visitors and educators from different schools. The next day, we attended a faculty meeting in the morning about the things and flow on how are we going to go through with the preparation of school’s opening and also about the number of enrollees for this school year. I asked for help on my co-teachers to bring the table to my new classroom. In the afternoon, we then attended the re-echo on Facilitation and conduct of PSS activities to Learners S.Y 2022-2023 which was a very interesting experience to enjoy and participate together with the other faculty. It’s not just fun but also informative which we can also implement on the school’s opening of classes. Specially on the first week, and that surely given us the idea to think creatively in implementing activities to our students to get to know them who they really are and where they are coming from. After that, we then drove to DUKA barangay office to send personally the letter. On the last day of Brigada Eskwela, I spent my day focusing on the things that are needed to add up to my classroom and somehow beautify this in the best way possible that I can. It was ended cleaned up, and I was happy with the result that it turned out from a laboratory into a classroom.
