Photo Mechanic Tutorial http://www.camerabits.com 1. Open Photo Mechanic contact sheet by dragging your folder of photos over the Photo Mechanic Icon in your dock. 2. At the top left is a slider. Move it back and forth. This changes the size of the thumbnails. 3. As you roll over each photo, icons appear around your picture. The top ones will rotate your photos. 4. The bottom right icon, opens a preview pane and allows you to edit your work. Click this icon on any of your photos. 5. There are many options here. For now, click on the arrows at the upper left. Your previews will show up one at a time (you can also use the left and right arrow keys). As you go, when you find a photo you like, check the lower right box (or press the “t” key) and keep going. You are tagging your favorite photos. 6. The fastest way to edit is to use the arrow keys and the “t” key. 7. Once you have gone through all of your photos, click out of the preview (upper left corner) back to your contact sheet. 9. Type apple “A.” To select all of your photos. 10. The bottom left icon on any photo will open your caption dialogue box. Here you can write the appropriate information. 11. Write your caption in the caption field. Leave all other fields blank. 12. To rename your photos, select those photos you wish to rename. Type apple “M” to get a dialog box. Check the “sequence” box, and type your file name information before the {seqn} area. Click on “Set {seqn} variable… and than enter the number you wish to start with. Click on the “Rename” button and your pictures will be renamed.
