(i) People This proposal will provided the target audiences with professional skills needed in the workplace. PROJECT RELEVANCE and NEED Need for such a CSR initiative by Pecca: a) Equal education opportunity b) Training students to develop an innovative-led mindset c) Stimulation of economic development by virtue of creating job opportunities PROJECT RELEVANCE and NEED • How is this different? - Previous CSR initiatives regarded the community, workplace, marketplace and environment. a) Installing Car Seats b) Educating public on climate change - Current CSR approach is more specific and directed towards a particular group of people (students) - This is a challenging but new and promising undertaking as it aims at tackling student related problems such as job opportunities, financial capacity of students in an age of inflation and even the intellectual capacity of students. Project Descripti on Pecca Group – Corporate Social Responsibility Objective & Aims of Project Pecca Group – Corporate Social Responsibility AIM S Job Opportunit ies Skillfull Employees Reduce Poverty What key activities will the company undertake in this project? Competitions should be organized by the school academy affairs authorities to encourage students in developing creative and critical thinking skills and abilities which would profoundly benefit the company in the future when the student becomes an employee of the corporation.For example, ‘Top-Business-Proposal’ competition could be conducted where the best business idea would be considered by Pecca, also, Pecca company will award them an opportunity to intern in their company in the future. Upon completion of these activities, Pecca Group would be awarding financial aid to students who excel. I. Only provided to year 3 students ( final year student) II. Score well final year project proposal III. CGPA of 3.5 and above IV. Low income family (monthly salary lower than RM 2 500) V. Interview However, in order to receive these financial aids, there are some requirements the recipient would have to satisfy: The scholarship recipient would also be given an opportunity to intern in Pecca Group and upon completing graduation, they would be able to work with Pecca Group. WHAT IS THE EXPECTED DURATION OF THE PROJECT? • Since Pecca group will be providing this to only a particular group in the community will limit the expenditure and make it a more sustainable project . • seeking government funding will allow the programmed to continue running for as long as it is necessary. • As this is outside the scope of Pecca the program should operate for 3 years and after conduct a cost analysis and an overall evaluation of the program to determine whether the program has satisfied and meet with the SDG goals intended. What is the estimated budget? • 3% of net profit together with government funding • 3% from the net profit of 2019 will be RM 498 000 • This amount of money will be distributed as below: • Financial Aid: RM 418 000 • Seminars: RM 30 000 • Competitions: RM 50 000 • this amount of money will be paid annually to the polytechnic institutes • financial aid will be provided only to 100 students from 2 polytechnic institutes • so each student will be provided RM 4180 which is approximately half of their tuition fee. • Malaysia Education Ministry spends RM 206 million to develop and prepare training programmed at polytechnics and community college in 2019. How will this =z project be self === sustaining? Governme nt’s funding • Government will help to fund in order to achieve this project. • The government need to promote high education quality among the youth, this is because the government can gain credibility from the youth. • Why?  to create a better support system so that the youth can conduct more programmes which benefit the youth. In co m e t a xe s g iv e n t o t h e g o ve rn m e n t Annual report 0f Pecca 2019: o The company paid income taxes in return, to the government: o It helps to sustain the government operation so that the government can use tax money for: health services, public transport, etc. o In 2019, Permodalan Usahawan Nasional Bhd had allocated RM 200 million for the retail and wholesale industry. o This funding can help Pecca company to improve their workplace environment as well as improving the technology in conducting their business  helps to increase their porfit. 5.87 million EXPECTED RESULTS • 3 years and above ADVANTAGES • The students be able to intern in the company if they win the competition held by Pecca. • It will improve further their working performance and • Able to cope with the working stress. • Reduce the poverty rate in future - have the basic needed working skills Achieve zero hunger - sustain their life from the stable salary and lifting their life quality. • Between one to two years ADVANTAGES • Will see the talent and creativity of the particular students. • They will able to develop creativity, critical thinking skills and will be more efficient. DISADVANTAGES • Student still have not graduate and unable to enter workforce, the students who manage to get the financial aid will not be able to work in the company.
