Oil spills INTRODUCTION- As much as we love sealife and wildlife, we have to keep in mind the dangers and damages oil spills have caused. We can see it through our daily lives how not only these oil spills affect us but everything else around us can cause the slightest or biggest danger we’ve seen. Through the research gathered for this speech it is important to know what this has done to our environments, our communities, and what kind of future to expect. SPEECH CONTENT - It might not seem to affect you very much now or even when events regarding oil spills happened but it is very important to know what is going on and make sure the damage done isn’t and won't become permanent. Starting with the way these oil spills happen it is due to the oil tanker or pipelines that are in control of oil companies. Major spills are due to the installation of the lines/tankers. CSR( corporate social responsibility) plays a major role in how to deal with oil spills and companies have to be careful when dealing with these issues because it causes a lot of negative representation of them and the people that work with their companies and even lower profits for the company. CSR has been around for a while but it has also developed throughout time and could be unclear what rules with it are taking place and how they have to be met and dealt with. Ultimately it comes down to the accountability and sustainability of companies and the responsibility they should take when damaging environments. Oil spills damage very heavily coastal and marine ecosystems. Chemicals from oil are dangerous and when spills happen they have to be monitored after being contaminated. What type of oil, how much was spilled and where this took place. In places like Peru, Brazil and Louisiana that have been affected by these oil spills and most marine life is affected any time these problems take place. CSR has many solutions to maintain balance like providing real time reports and environmental indicators reports annually. CONCLUSION- There may be many more solutions to ease people's mind and even to make corporations have an easier life and better process so this never happens or take better and serious measures if it happens again.
