BAHALA NA The Filipino subconsciously accepts the bahala na attitude as a part of life. Divine providence- that is, under God’s sovereign guidance and control. Fatalism- the belief that all events are predetermined and therefore inevitable. FILIPINO THOUGHT AND VALUES: PHILIPPINE VALUES AND SYSTEM -it refers to the set of values or the value system that a majority of the Filipino have historically held important in their lives. UTANG NA LOOB -Reciprocating debts of gratitude between coordinates and subordinates holds the whole group together. POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE ASPECTS OF FILIPINO THOUGHTS POSITIVE 1. BAYANIHAN- is a Filipino word derived from the word bayan meaning town, nation, or community in general 2. HOSPITALITY- the friendly and entertainment of guests, visitors, or strangers. 3. RESPECTFUL- is behaving in way that shows regard for someone or something. NEGATIVE 1. Crab Mentality- is a widely used term in the Philippines given to Filipinos who always try to pull down other Filipinos who are succeeding in life and getting ahead of them. 2. Chismosero/a-this are the people who like gossips. 3. Trickery/panlilinlang sa kapwa- the practice of deception/use of tricks to deceive or cheat someone. C. PHILOSOPHY: TRANSCENDING AND
