My own personal definition is a merge of two types of beauty: the idea of beauty created by humans and the idea of beauty created by Allah SWT (God). The idea of beauty created by humans is one that varies From person to person and continues to evolve as we change or re-adjust our perspectives. But that does not mean all people have the same views on beauty. For Muslim women, our definition greatly differs from the typical or standard idea of beauty. In a world where the more skin you show means the more confident you are in your body, we, as Muslim women, immediately stand out and are misunderstood. The hijab is not meant to be an obstruction to me. IF anything, it is a gift that God blessed mewith, Further enhancing the status of Muslim women. | personally think that the status of a woman is elevated because when men cannot look at your body, they are forced to look elsewhere — deeper inside to your intellect. But covering a woman's body does not mean that one has low self-esteem or is not confident in their appearance. Simply put, it can mean that one values and has great love for herself and does not need the approval of others to love herself. Ultimately, | think beauty is personal, intimate and between Allah SWT and me. 2. A beautiful person is? The definition of “beauty” that we are fed with from the media - that is not beauty. That is simply “good-looking” and “attractive to the eyes”. | personally believe beauty transcends further than that. OF course, I’m not saying that we should not appreciate physical attractiveness and acknowledge it as we see it. We admire the beauty of creation - and that includes the physical beauty of people blessed with it. But once you start comparing your looks with others’, when you start calling yourself “ugly” and deeming yourself unfit For marriage, it is time to revise your definitions of beauty. More importantly, beauty is not the outer features that a person has such as in women where they are considered to have the perfect smile, unblemished skin and curvy. Beauty is the true character of someone that emanates from one's internal being. That is, beauty entails a person who is compassionate, caring and loving. Beauty is characterized by a virtuous person. Inside beauty does not fade and is worthwhile in Front of people and oneself being. Therefore, a beautiful person is one who is unassuming, intelligent and generous. That is, beautiful people encompass their personality with that of their spirit. They are willing to listen to others. They always put others First before considering themselves.
