Prevention of Cyber Crime In India Abstract: In present scenario cybercrime needs to be controlled by preventive measures. In India, in the las few years, Cybercrime is increasing with increased usage of Information and Communication Technology. In our day to day life computer and internet become very necessary and useful for the world to communicate with each other globally. In 21st Century, cyber world is one of the fastest and highest technologies where people can easily gain profits. All countries, including India is one of the country indulge in cybercrime. Introduction Cyber Law in India is an important legal issue. It’s a combination of Intellectual property, Information Technology, Data protection and Data privacy. Similarly, Cybercrime is a illegal activity such as theft, fraud, forgery, defamation and other activities are the part of cyberspace. The word ‘Cybercrime’ includes illegal activities, unauthorised access, hacking, cyber stalking, etc. Cybercrime describes activities committed through the use of Electronic communication media, with regard to cyber fraud and identifies the methods. The cyber security has its own pros and cons which can be beneficial for youth. Cybercrime is a computer crime or internet crime Meaning of Cybercrime Cybercrime is not well defined but it is a crime activity that is punishable under law. According to the prominent scholars, a crime is increased by cyber stalking, hacking, forgery, etc. In fact the Indian Penal Code does not use the term ‘cybercrime’ at any point even after its amendment by Information and Technology Act 2008. In technical world, people use various online methods to make their life simple. The increasing access and continuous use of technology has radical impact on the people. In earlier days, cybercrime was committed by individuals or small groups but as the technology is vast, it has been observed that there is large group of individual committed a crime. There are number of individuals or organisation of victims affected by cybercrime. Further, cybercrimes are broadly categorized into three groups:  Individual In present scenario, Cybercrime is very serious crime and many individuals play an important part of victim’s. This type of cybercrime can be in the form of hacking, stalking, child pornography, trafficking, etc. The person who commits a crime uses the advantage of victims by harassment with the use of social network.  Property As we know the technology is widespread, the property of human beings is at risk in the cyber world. The criminal activities can be made in the cyber world; they can misuse the person’s bank details or disbarred the person from one organization to another. The activities related to misuse the card detail; use malicious software to gain access to an organization’s website or disrupt the system of the organization. The software that is related to Anti-Virus software is also harmful, so one should use this software with proper authenticated source. The network of internet can be threatened to one’s property.  Government Government is affected by Cyber terrorism. This kind of crime uses to threaten the government websites, military websites or convey their propaganda. There are some organizations that threaten the government by cyber terrorism. If criminals are successful in their motive, it can cause severe disruption or widespread fear in society. Types of Cybercrime  Cyber Stalking Cyber stalking refers to the repeated acts of harassment targeting the victim. A cyber stalker repeatedly stalks the individual or organization to threaten the person for his own livelihood. Cyber stalker relies upon the fact that his or her identity is not known to the world. Stalking can be dangerous by serious violent acts which can be affected by mental or physical harassment.  Cyber Bullying The word ‘bully’ reflects under the unlawful criminal behaviour that takes place over digital devices. Cyber bullying can occur through social media, forum or gaming apps such websites place an important role to bully the victims. The intention is to cause embarrassment or humiliation. The only difference between stalking and bullying is that the crime committed by adolescent or teenager is known as cyber bullying, on the other hand the crime is done by adults is known as cyber stalking.  Cyber Terrorism
