Project Title: Project SAFE (Safety Awareness for Everyone) 2. Proponents: Grade 12 Students – Fortuna National High School 3. Introduction: Barangay Fortuna is a mountain range location. Entering to this barangay is an accident-prone area because the road in this place is highly dangerous. This place has a curvatures and abrupt roads which is why many residents get accident. One reason why there are some people who got into an accident in this barangay is because the dangerous places are lacking of safety signages. Project SAFE (Safety Awareness for Everyone) was created to emphasize the importance of preventing accident and to get the tourists be aware of our area. The place that we need to put some signages are in Sitio Antipolo, Sitio Taguican, and Centro I. This project also aims to improve road safety and navigation in our community by implementing a comprehensive signages program. This program will include the placement of signs on roads to improve safety and the introduction of directional guides to help people find their way to important community resources such as schools, Barangay hall, and tourist spots. 4. Objective 3.1. Overall Objective To improve road safety by providing clear and concise information to drivers. To promote community engagement by directing people to important community resources. 3.2. Specific Objectives To create safety awareness for the tourists. To enhance navigation for tourists who are not familiar in the areas. To reduce accidents. To reduce the burden on local residents who may be asked for directions frequently. 5. Community Profile Barangay Fortuna is a small and peaceful community located in municipality of Socorro, Oriental Mindoro herein Philippines. Barangay Fortuna is in a mountain range location so most of the road here are not well cemented and some of the roads have abrupt and curvature. This is the reason why the Brgy. Fortuna is an accident prone area. One of the reasons why some of the people are experiencing accidents is because the areas in the barangay have lack of signages that can give caution to the people and visitors of our barangay.
