Q-16.5 Question 16.5 Liberty University A research team conducted a study of soft drink preferences among residents in a test market prior to an advertising campaign for a new cola product. Of the participants, 130 are teenagers and 130 are adults. The researchers secured the following results: Cola Non-Cola Teenagers 50 80 Adults 90 40 With the given information we are to calculate an appropriate measure of association and decide how to present the results. We must also relay how might this information affect the advertising strategy. To even consider the appropriate measure of association we must know the type of measurements that can be used and that are available for this kind of concept. Nonparametric measures of association obtain the measures for Nominal Data, Chi-square based measures, Proportional Reduction in Error and Measure for Ordinal Data. This type of measurements allows for appropriate measurement when needed. For deeper understanding on how these works we must know that “Nominal measures are used to assess the strength of relationships in cross-classification tables. They can be used with chi-square or may be used separately. According to the text there is no fully satisfactory all- purpose measure for categorical data.” (Schindler, 2019) The adversity can be affected by table shape and number of cells; others are sensitive to sample size or marginals. In other words, there is an abundance of factors that make the information what it should be, and these techniques allows them to be identifiable in the correct manner for the intended purpose. Chi-square based measure is used in direct mail and campaign events that lead to success. Proportional reduction in error or (PRE) is known to be the second type that is used with the contingency tables. Ordinal measure it is required the illustration of Gamma, Kendall’s tau b and tau c, Somers’s d and or spearman’s rho. For this particular problem I would most likely used the chi square test. This is of the most popular used method to find out the association between two variables. I also believe that in this case it would be the best method to identify the association. It can also help us identify the two categorical nonparametric and variable since the data is not routinely distributed. Using this type of test may affect the advertising strategy by testing the goodness of fit. This technique has been used in many study cases, one in particular detects defection in aluminum foil by measurement-residual-based chi-square detector. This article focuses on the quality inspection of aluminum foil and plays a crucial part for the manufactures as a whole. Basically, based on the findings the manufactures can make the correct decision on how to use the information. According to the finding it is “assumed that the intensity of the aluminum foil image is Gaussian distributed, and the distribution of the defect intensity is different from normal. Under these assumptions, Kalman filters with a constant velocity (CV) model are used to filter the image, and then the measurement residual from Kalman filters is obtained to detect defect by the measurement-residual-based chi-square detector. Experiments show that our technique is effective for most defects in aluminum foil. (Zhai. M, Fu.S, Gu.S. . . Luo, x 2011) We as Christian believe that the word of God is the thoughts of God manifested through man and their experience. We believe that the bible is truth and factual; infallible without error, just as Jesus proclaimed in John 17:17. That verse says “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. In other words, the concept of God's Word being true points back to the idea that the Bible is, well, God's Word. The reason why this bible verse speaks so loud to me while writing this
