GOZO July 2022 Chapter I Introduction Quality teaching and student learning are the primary goals in education. To achieve these goals, the Philippine Professional Standards for Teacher (PPST) shall be used as basis for all learning and development programs for teachers. This is to ensure that teachers are appropriately equipped to implement the K to 12 programs with effectiveness and efficiency. Statement of the Problem This study is focused on the analysis of the training and development needs of the faculty members of the QAT Blended Learning Education Middle East Abu Dhabi UAE: basis for faculty vevelopment program: Specifically, it seeks answers to the following questions: 1. What is the profile of the secondary school teachers in terms of: a. Age b. Educational attainment c. Position held d. Grade level taught e. Subject taught f. Number of years in service g. Numbers of hours in training g.1 instructional planning g.2 pedagogy (teaching skills) g.3 subject matter competency g.4 assessment of teaching and learning? 2. What are the training and development needs of teachers when classified according to their profile and in the following areas: a. Instruction planning b. Pedagogy c. Subject matter competency d. Assessment of teaching and learning? Scope and Delimitation of the Study This study is limited to the analysis of the training and development needs of the faculty members of the QAT Blended Learning Education ME. The target respondents will be delimited to faculty members of QAT. Definition of Terms This gives clarity to the ambiguous words or group of words as used in this study. It also gives the readers an understanding of the concepts or factors that will be discussed throughout the study, as well as contextual and operational information as to how the words or group of words are being used in concepts of the study. Analysis. This refers to a detailed examination of anything complex in order to understand its nature or to determine its essential features: a thorough study. This refers to the process of learning the new skills you need to do a particular job or activity: a training course, a teacher-training college, and new staff training in how to use the system. This refers to any necessity that may sustain any person to stay fit and stable in any endeavor of his choosing. This definition is used in this study. Training need analysis. This refers to the process in which the company identifies training and development needs of its employees so that they can do their job effectively. The same definition is being used in the study (economictimes.indiatimes.com, 12/14/2021). Faculty Members. This refers to any professionals being hired by an institute of learning to conduct instructions to learners for any credit to satiate any certificate of completion. This definition is being used in the study. QAT Blended Learning Education ME . This refers to an institute of learning duly accredited by both the Philippine and United Arab Emirates laws to offer general education (pre- school, elementary, and high school) situated in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
