Students these days tend to have more freedom to get involved in romantic relationships, have positive or negative effects on their performance in School. In the past days, most people had an believed that it was not proper to have a romantic relationship while studying since these teenage relationships normally causes many disadvantages for their studies as well as future. For instance, they might be involved in dating and other love affairs rather than concentrating on their education. Significantly, in some causes, some relationships sometime lead to early pregnancy outside marriage which is against societal norms and culture. As a result, almost parents have imposed restrictions on their children not be involve in romantic relationship or love affairs, particularly during the time when they have to focus only on their studies. However, in the current days, students crave to have romantic relationships in which love is given and received without restrictions. To illustrate, they can see nowadays that many students are prioritizing their time in both academic and romantic affairs (Bernales and Colonia). Unfortunately a assignments, research paper, projects, tests, and exams which require students to have a great amount of time and attention. Thus, many people believe that students should not have a romantic relationship since it will distract their attention and performance (newman;n.d.). Students today are more prone to engage themselves in romantic relationships,not thinking of the consequences that would arise from their decisions.Today,being in a relationship is a “trend”. Teens are becoming more aggressive because of love. As a result, romantic relationship gains more importance among teenagers nowadays. Teenagers become more interested and involved in dating because of their desire to belong with others. The proper aims to investigate the effects of being in Romantic Relationship to the Academic performances of Grade 12 students of Esperanza National High School. The study findings indicate it effects through Physical, Mental, -Inspiration - Leisure - Entertainment - Obsession -First Grading -Second Grading -Third Grading -Fourth Grading Social, and Spiritual emotion. Scope and Limitation of the Study This research will be conducted at Esperanza National High School in the Barangay Poblacion Municipality of Esperanza Sultan Kudarat with the selected 20 respondents of Grade 12 students of Senior High School of the school year 2022-20223. The goal of this study is to (1.) know the level of romantic relationship of Grade 12 students in terms of: Inspiration. Leisure, Entertainment, and Obsession; (2) is the academic performance grade 12 student’s significantly influenced by romantic relationship and obsession; ( 3) the effect of romantic relationship to the academic performances of grade 12 students. Definition of Terms Academic Performance - It is the measurement of the student achievement acrossvarious academic subject. . Level- It refers to a position on a real or imaginary scale of amount,quantity, extent, or quality. Effect- It refers to change which is a result or consequences of an action or other cause. Esperanza National High School- It is the locale of the study and where the study will be conducted Significant- It means sufficiently great or important to be worthy of attention ;noteworthy. Romantic- It refers to a feeling of love for, r a strong attraction towards anotherperson. Romantic Relationship- It is defined as mutual, ongoing and voluntary interactions between two partners that is characterized by specific expressions of affection and intimacy. Respondents- It refers to a person who replies to something, especially are supplying information for a survey or questionnaire.
