Right now being Working student is not easy. You need to do some techniques on how should you able to manage you time in school and in work, and also you need to study hard for your academic performance. In one commercial of Nescafé, there is one security guard at the same time a student. He also have his childrens that is studying also. But because of his being temper, he is now succesful in life. He became teacher. Statement of the Study This study determined the academic performance of the selected working students and the way they apply their time management. For its purpose, it seek to answer the following questions: 1.What time management do working students employ in work and academics? 2.How does work affects the academic performance of a working students? Significance of the Study This study would be more even effective and more beneficial to: Employers:The employer will get more ideas on how they will earn salary and how will they manage their time wisely. San Jose Community High School Senior High School Schools:The school will take more consideration on their students who are working and they would likely to give more attentions on their students needs. Parents:The parents would likely to be more knowledgeable on how they will treat their son/daughters more nicely and comfortable. Working students:The working student could be inspire on this study as they will going to know the well known people who succeed in life like in their situation. Scope and Delimitation of the Study This study is limited to working students and their academic performance and their time management. The respondents were Junior High school and Senior High School in San Jose Community High School. They were working Students at the time of the study. This study utilized descriptive research design that explore the time management and the academic performance of a working student. It did not look in the cause and effect and therefore was also observational in terms of data collection. Conceptual Framework OUTPUT Plan of action to enhance time management of a working student to enhance their academic performance. PROCESS *Data Gathering *Administration of the questionnaire INPUT What is the profile of the respondents in terms of their General Average. San Jose Community High School Senior High School The Conceptual framework is composed of 3 processes: input, process,and output.The input will be the profile of the respondents in terns of their General Average to determine what is the academic performance of the respondents. In the Process phase, Data Gathering and Administration of the questionnaire will be utilize. Lastly, for the output phase is Plan of action to enhance time management of a working student to enhance their academic performance. San Jose Community High School Senior High School author advises the need for students to do everything they can for them to grow as experts in their chosen field while they are still in school. All these trainings and experiences will just benefit them where the time comes that will be establishing their own careers. According to Marsh (2005),the performance of a working student in school only affects on what kind of job does the student have. Let us say for example, a student have morning classes and his work is at night, and his school finish from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, the remaining time he have is only too short, Take one hour before he go to his work again that result that the student been forsaken his school responsibilities that affects their academic performance in school. Related Studies The latest study of Mehnaz(2013) found out that the development many times collage have not had to manage their time properly that’s why from their high grades are now receiving low grades are those people who are probably no less capable than those receiving constant high grades but often their study skill, including time manage are less effective. And beside of thatin the study of Bachman, staff, O’Malley,Schulenberf,& Freedman-Doan,(2011);Carr et al,(1996);Stonebreaker Stonebreaker,(2013) “One of the aspect of student employment has been investigated across various disciplines in the social behavioural sciences; its impact on educational engagement and performance. It also stated the central position of outcomes in the academic literature on the impact of student labor supply decisions on later outcomes in youth. San Jose Community High School Senior High School In one of the study entitled Effect of time management skills on students academic performance by students time is a limited resource. Like other limited resources, time can be more or less effectively managed. We propose that differences among individuals in time management practices account for some of the differences in how much students achieve during their school years. The self-perception of having good time management skills is considered to have a direct correlation to performance levels. Students who perceive themselves as having good time management skills are usually the students who are more involved and have a high desire to achieve, resulting in a higher level of performance. According to the study of (Kelly,2019) “Whether you are working to put yourself through college or you are someone who is going back to school to advance your current career, managing time in your professional and academic life is no easy task, especially when you have additional responsibilities competing for your time, such as raising children. We lament how our busy lives make it tough to keep up with it all and how we wish there were more hours in a day; while I have no doubts that many people are truly busy, the truth is that it is not lack of time that is usually not the issue, but poor time management.” Angelo Dulas (2010) Primarily, the study was conducted to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and academic performances on Math and English subject of science high school students. The objectives are (a) to find what level of self- efficacy do High school students have and (b) to explore if there is gender difference among high school students in terms of their self-efficacy and academic performance. Over the years the concept of "work study balance" has been an ongoing struggle for working students while there can be a number of factors involved financial crisis is still the primary reason why students take part time (of full time) jobs. Running from school to work and juggling academic requirements and side hustle while keeping your family social or love life in check is a truly daunting task. If you work it and have your interest you may achieve it but you need to pursuit if with your whole strenght and your full attention for your goal. It was revealed in the study of student academic performance measurement has received considerable attention in previous research, it is challenging aspect of academic literature and science student performance are affected due to social, psychological, economics, environment and personal factor. Those factors affect them because those are the common problems we usually encounter on our daily lives, but those factors that affect the student performance could possibly solve my right time management skill. In the way of slowly solving all issues in life but until all of the problems is solve by in that way all of the factors of that affect student performance negatively could be no issue on student life anymore MOHAMMAD(2016). San Jose Community High School Senior High School Chapter 3 Methodology This chapter presents the description of the research methods to be used, the respondents of the study, the instruments to be used, the procedures and sources of data utilized in analyzing the data gathered. This research also presents the research techniques and statistical treatment to be used. Research Method The researchers used purposive sampling for the data gathering of the study. A purposive sample is non-probability sample that is selected based on characteristics of a population and the objective of this study.Thus, the researcher chose to conduct a survey in (50) respondents who are related to the study. Purposive sampling also known as judgmental,selective, or subjective sampling.Simple percentage formula will be used. Formula: where: %=f/N x 100 %=Percent F=Frequency N=Number of respondents San Jose Community High School Senior High School Research Locale The researcher will conduct this research entitled “Time management of working students and their academic performance” in San Jose Community High School, where the students are called Josenians. The mission of this school is to provide quality learning experiences that will transform learners to become productive citizens. Figure 3.1:Illustration of San Jose Community High School Map Data Gathering Procedure The procedure on how the researcher will do to gather the data is to First,get a consent in the principal in conducting a survey .Second,to administer the data.Third, is to retrieve the gathered data. Next is to tabulate it. The third question that the researcher has been asked is that What working students do to make their academic performance more even better.44% of the respondents answers that they improves their time management skills to make their academic performance more even better. another 30% responds that they are being more responsible on their activities,and last 26 % respondents say that their can do their academic performance even more better when the did activities one at a time. The respondents answers that the importance of time management for them Is that it helps them to accomplish their tasks in school and works, it also makes them even more responsible and last is that it helps them to organize their agenda in both school and work. And also one of they consider San Jose Community High School Senior High School that time management is really is important because it makes their task more easy for them to solve all problems slowly without getting pressured. SUMMARY,CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION Summary In this research, as a summary. It is important to have a skills in making good time management in order to have a better performance in both school and work. Because time management has a great impact in the academic performance of a working students or even in every individuals. After conducting the necessary methodology, the researcher determined the effect of time management in the academic performance of every working student. Most of the working students shows that working while studying is not that easy, because you need to manage your time properly. It is also the ability to plan and control how someone spends the hours in a day to effectively accomplish their goals. This involves juggling time between the domains of life-work, home, social life, hobbies. The researcher also founds out that It is important to establish clear goals and priorities in order to set aside non-essential tasks that can eat up time, and to monitor where the time actually goes. In beside of that, the researcher finds out that using your time properly has a great impact in our daily lives, it seems that in this generation, Managing time is a hard task to do, But if you do your best to manage your time properly and effectively, you will be very much successful in life. San Jose Community High School Senior High School Also, the researcher finds out that work really affects the academic performance of a working students in terms of financial support. Most of the respondents answers that they are doing this, because of financial problems that they encounter. The researcher also found out that in this generation, most of the time, Phone is very useful in terms of time management. Most of the number of respondents answered that they always use their phones because it is very handy and useful. And only few used to do listing their tasks before undergo in another task. Conclusion As a conclusion,the researcher conclude that time management has a great impact on having a good and high academic performance though he/she was a regular student or a working student. And also, the researcher conclude that in this generation, there are lots of working students use their phones in having a good time management. The researcher also conclude that to enhance the academic performance of a working student, they must need to do some necessary things to manage their time properly. As a working student, it is not easy to manage your limited time. As a conclusion, The researcher concludes that if a working student manage their time properly, it will be easy for them to be successful in life. And beside of that, the researcher conclude that almost half number of respondents answers that their work has a great effect in terms of financial assistance, because nowadays, the people really experiencing some financial problems.
