What is biodiversity and why is it important? - Biodiversity boosts the whole ecosystem that heavily relies on each other even though they are on different species and kinds. Greater species diversity ensures natural sustainability for all life forms. 2. How are communities in the most vulnerable sectors exposed to greater environmental risks? Explain briefly. - For example, communities near water will probably the first one to get dismantled when a tsunami comes, but they are also the main consumers of fish products. 3. Why is biodiversity important in farming? What is the effect on biodiversity when farmlands are turned into subdivisions? Answer briefly. - As biodiversity increases, particularly wildlife populations can benefit farmers by improving agricultural productivity potential. Farming approaches can be tailored to benefit wildlife and biodiversity, which in turn can increase ecosystem stability in the face of environmental change, without reducing the potential for agricultural yield. 4. Do you agree with intergenerational responsibility in so far as the right to a balanced and healthful ecology is concerned? Explain your answer briefly. - Yes, every people have the rights to a balanced and healthful ecology in accord and harmony of nature and they are entitled to the full benefit, use and enjoyment of the natural resource treasure. 5. Cite an example of ecosystem service and explain briefly how biodiversity plays into it. - People and any other living thing heavily rely to a large degree on goods provided by natural and managed ecosystems. It is called ecosystem services, and the biodiversity play its role as the main consumer. One example is species diversity of soil organisms which influence soil fertility and can produce quality farm goods.
