Problem: What will happen to kangkong stalks when they dipped into water with different compounds 2. Hypothesis: Type of compounds that affects the water potential of kangkong stalk The type of solution and the water potential of kangkong stalk are unrelated 3. Experiment: a. Experimental variables: Bending of kangkong stalk b. Constant variables: Type of compound c. Description of experimental set-up: By the type of compound the kangkong stalk soaked into will determined the bending of it d. Description of control set-up Even by water alone the bending of kangkong stalk will be determined 4. Observations: a. Experimental set-up: It depends of the compound that kangkong stalk was soaked into of how the kangkong stalk bended b. Control set-up: The kangkong stalk bended differently depending on the water alone 5. Conclusion: The type of compound determines the length of time the kangkong stalk bends and the style of bend. The largest water potential is found in the kangkong stalk that was soaked in water, followed by water with 3 tsp of salt, water with two tsp of salt, and then water with only one tsp. While the kangkong stalk that had been soaked in water bended first in terms of reaction time, then water with 2 tsp of salt, followed by water with one tsp of salt, and finally the water with 3 tsp of salt. 6. Do you accept or reject the hypothesis? Defend your answer. We reject the null hypothesis because the time and type of bending of the kangkong stalk depended upon the type of solution we soaked the stalk into.
