SOC 1010 Reflection Paper Columbia Southern University SOC 1010 Reflection Paper A sociological theory helps us understand convivial events of one’s life and interactions. These theories can be utilized as test proposition about culture called hypothesis. The concepts and definitions can avail determine the gregarious interactions and demeanors that may occur. These sociological theories that are tested shows our interactions and postures and how they affect our society. In terms of theories assortment, it occurs with importance and viewpoints and the data they define as paramount. Some theories endeavor to tell us about the possible outcome of future events in the convivial world, while others function as broad perspective which guides further sociological analyses. In today’s world, one can encounter experiences of tension in all aspects of our lives in different areas. Some examples of these could be at our workplace of employment, ambulating to the bus down the street and within our neighborhood community. Haplessly, our skin color, where we live, the conveyance we drive, or what kind of attire we wear for as our appearance can be factors of how one is categorized in society. Social inequality is an area within sociology that fixates on distributions of goods and burdens in society. Inequality of conditions or opportunities can be measured in a way. Conditions could be viewed as an example with a woman at her workplace being paid less than a male co-worker. Opportunities could be viewed as an example as levels of inculcation for employees in a workplace. Both of the convivial inequality and conditions/ opportunities play a major part of discrimination with a person’s race, gender, and sexuality. According to a functionalist’s view, every component of society literally is interconnected and contributes to functionalism ideologies and opinions in a subtle way. Functionalism is one of the major theories in sociology. As a child goes to school to get an education a family relies on the this so that one day the child can get a job, keep it, and raise their own household one day. When children become law-abiding taxpayers, this will result in a regime benefit. If everything goes according to plan, society will create order, stability, and productivity (Allan, 2012). If things do not goes as planned for one, adjustments will have to be made to have a new direction. A functionalist will argue on what is beneficial to society as a whole and they will start working together to achieve it. Conflict concepts is another principle that was learned, which this concept fixates on society’s disagreeable, inconsistent, and continuous growing presence. The results of human behavior theories mostly are commonly between competing groups. When oneself or group are involved with these theories, they can make beneficial decisions about social changes. It inspirits convivial reform and believes the affluent and vigorous impose gregarious order on the poor and impotent. Some examples may be sexual orientation, political, gender, and ethnic. These examples show amalgamated on the streets and affect cultural vicissitude in their particular agendas. As a result, charitable acts, benevolence, democracy, equal rights and other beneficial aspects of society inevitable relate to the theory (Dillion, 2020). These sociology theories and conceptions lets people look at themselves and different cultures in a more critically way. It may draw attention to how these cultures interact with one another, along with making people cognizant of changes that are in effect. Present-day modern societies and civilizations face a constantly transforming, profoundly dynamic, and expeditiously changing sociocultural context. All these theories of sociological and principles providing the mechanisms and the techniques for understanding the whole environment.
