If in doubt please contact an Invigilator. Q1. (a) What is software engineering? (5 Marks) (b) Identify and elaborate on the generic framework activities that are present in every software process? (6 Marks) (c) Do you agree that incremental software process models are the most suited to modern software projects? Justify your answer. (14 Marks) Q2. (a) Most professional software is developed by project teams ranging in size from two to several hundred persons. Putting together a group that works effectively is a critical management task. In your opinion, how significant a factor, if at all, is the issue of group/team cohesion to overall team performance? Your presentation should address how to promote cohesion within a group; you should also address any claimed benefits and/or problems that may result. In the case of any problems, suggest how these may be overcome. (14 Marks) (b) What are the areas of significant difference between COCOMOII and its earlier version COCOMO? (6 Marks) (c) “If you don’t actively attack the risks, they will actively attack you”. Discuss, briefly. (5 Marks) Q3.
