SPD 546 Listening, Speaking, and Vocabulary Strategies Grand Canyon University: SPD 546 Listening, Speaking, and Vocabulary Strategies I was not able to observe in a physical classroom setting because my local school district is only conducting school virtually. I was able to observe the classroom via google classroom. I was able to collaborate with the classroom teacher via google classroom and email. My mentor and his paraeducator meet with the students both one on one and small group settings via Google classroom. While working with his students I noticed that he provides the same supports and strategies to all the students, English language learners or not. In my observation, I noticed that the listening and speaking strategy was the Listen-retell strategy. This is a strategy that allows the teachers to assess student comprehension while developing learners' listening and speaking skills. The students worked in pairs.
