Sumter. 48. Border States-DE,MD,KY,MO went to the union. 49. Comparative strengths of the North and the South- south had power over the cotton industry, without cotton. But the north had power over basically everything else. 50. European support for the war-Confederacy was going to boycott the sale of cotton to Europe to get them on their side.
