Kendra Wells October 16, 2008 EDTC 100 Life-long is one thing that was instilled in me at a young age. Life-long learning can help everybody. It is one of ways that America has become the great country it is now. Life-long learning is the concept that it is never too early or too late for learning. The importance of this philosophy is to get people to understand that a person will never stop learning. Today people discover different things everyday or what has already been discovered will get changed. Life- long learning is relevant to teachers and students, for students not only learn from their teachers but they also educate their teachers. Teachers can learn how the new technology works or what different things mean for different generations. We also want teachers to get the students to understand the importance of life-long learning at a young age. Teachers also need to understand no matter how high their degree is there is never an end to what they or their students can learn. A teacher has to be very committed to his/her students. Commitment to students goes past the classroom, for some students they need life lessons too. Teachers have to be approachable for students. If a teacher does not have a relationship with his/her students then the students will always resent that teacher. Having a relationship with students is also important because some students need someone that they can confide in. They need to be able to know that they can trust that teacher with personal business. A student- teacher relationship should also be kept to a minimum. I do not think that teachers or students should entertain the other if they become sexually explicit with them. I also think that teacher-student relationships should be monitored. Reflective Practitioner is an educator who is in a continuous process and involves the learner considering things that happened in his or her life’s experience. This practice is significant because it is important that you can relate with the topic that you are
