BLOOM'S TAXONOMY LEVEL Knowledge Understand THEORY The problem statement is the initial starting point for a project. It is basically a one to three page statement that everyone on the project agrees with that describes what will be done at a high level. The problem statement is intended for a broad audience and should be written in non-technical terms. It helps the non-technical and technical personnel communicate by providing a description of a problem. It doesn't describe the solution to the problem. The input to requirement engineering is the problem statement prepared by customer. It may give an overview of the existing system along with broad expectations from the new system. 1 The first phase of requirements engineering begins with requirements elicitation i.e. gathering of information about requirements. Here, requirements are identified with the help of customer and existing system processes. So from here begins the preparation of problem statement. So, basically a problem statement describes what needs to be done. LAB EXERCISE 1 Problem Statement : The Indian handicraft and handloom industry engages over 23 million craftsmen. A cross-border e-commerce marketplace will allow buyers and sellers to meet at one platform for business. It will help in growing their business and the overall economy of our country. Summary: To develop an exclusive e-commerce platform for artisans to sell their products. The demand forecast of the items required, automatic quality checks on the items as well as Sentiment analysis with next recommendation actions for the artist shall be added. Objective: ? To promote the Indian handicraft industry globally ? Providing a common platform to make, market, and sell high- quality handicrafts and goods 2 Proposed Solution : We will aim to build an ecommerce platform for Artisans where they can sell their products and make profit. They will also be able to advertise their products and gain more customers. This will benefit both the custormers and the artisans as it will be easier for the customers to find good and trustworthy products and at the same time the artisans can make profit.This will also benefit the economy of our nation .
