Republic of the Philippines Sorsogon State University Sorsogon City Campus Sorsogon City Individual Narrative Report NAME: Laura, Camille Joy B. SECTION: BS Accountancy 1 ACTIVITY: Midterm Examination: Case Study For our midterm examination, instead of an individual exam we were assigned as group to do a case study. There are five groups and each group has their own topic or case to be analyzed. The case that were given to our group is entitled “Air Canada”, an airline facing a lot of problem and on the verge of bankruptcy. Just like before, our group leader made a poll on which part of case study we want to do. The part I chose is the Alternative Courses of Action, this is not the part I wanted I first because I though it’s hard. Still, I chose it because I thought no part in case study is not easy and I got a partner in this part so it’s fine. There are five parts and we’re ten in the group, we we’re by pair on our chosen parts. My partner in this activity is Ms. Glyza Lariosa, and I’m happy about it. Our group leader, instructed us that in this activity we have to be systematic. It has to be systematic because it is a case study you can't do the action without the problem first. Since we are on the third part, we waited first for the Statement of the Problem and the Background of the Study before we do our part, which is the Alternative Courses of Action. Together with Ms. Lariosa, we decided to make the alternative courses of action individually and then check each other's work before combining it. At first it was hard for me to give an alternative courses of action because I got confused about the SOP. So I asked Ms. Lariosa about it and thankfully she explained it to me. Before I made alternative courses of action, I searched on the net about the issue we are studying, so that I would know what alternative action I should do. It was hard at first because a lot of information got scrambled in my head, so I organized the ideas first before giving a conclusion. It was late at night when I decided to continue it the next morning, but before I slept I made sure that I already had the alternative courses of action and will just finalize it the next day. When morning came, I woke up late and I was pressured because my partner had already finished and I’m not. So, I relaxed my mind first before doing mine and it only take a little time because it only need a finalizing. After I finished it, I sent it to my partner to let her check it as I check hers. Both output is good, so I let my partner combine it and pass it to our group leader to check. To sum up, the task were not too easy but also not too hard. I think it’s because we do it together and we help each other. The group were also not pressured and let each other share their own ideas and thoughts. Members were also cooperative and always making sure that everyone is helping so that every output is done with each and everyone’s hard work.
