OBJECTIVES At the end of the discussion, 100% of the students with at least 75% level of proficiency shall be able to: 1. Distinguish verbal from nonverbal communication, 2. Identify the different types of nonverbal communication, and; 3. Communicate effectively by using proper verbal and nonverbal cues. II. SUBJECT MATTER Lesson: Verbal and Nonverbal Communication Reference: Speak Up! A Worktext in Speech and Oral  Introduce the different types of verb: a. Finite verbs are such kinds of verbs that have a definite relation with the subject or noun. b. Non-finite verbs do not talk about the action that is being performed by the subject or noun. c. Action verbs are one of the most easily identifiable types of verbs in English grammar. d. Helping verbs are verbs that, as their name suggests, help the main verb in a sentence by extending the meaning of the verb. e. Linking verbs connect the subject to a noun or adjective that helps in describing or providing additional information about the subject. f. Regular verbs are verbs that form their past participle with‘d’ or ‘ed’ as suffixes. g. Irregular verbs are the verbs that change their form completely when changing from base form to past participle and perfect participle. D. Application  The students will be picking numbers from 1-20. Each number contains verbs and the students shall be able to identify the type of this verb and know its use on the sentence. The students will be given 10 seconds per turn. The student with the highest score will have the plus 5 points on the next quiz. E. Generalization  To make sure that the lesson is learned, the teacher will ask the students to answer and complete these statements: “I have learned that…” “Without the use of verbs…” F.
