Usually, wearable tech like smart glasses, tablets, or smartphones are used to access it. When it comes to functionality, VR aims to create a sense of presence and immersion by isolating users from the real world and transporting them to a simulated environment. On the other hand, AR enhances the real world by adding computer-generated information, such as text, images, or 3D models, to the user's view. It enables users to interact with virtual objects while still maintaining awareness of their surroundings. 2. What are the positive and negative implications of these emerging trends to our culture and society? By offering immersive and interactive platforms, VR and AR have the potential to broaden access to experiences, knowledge, and education. They can help remove geographic obstacles and enable remote cooperation and communication. However, there is a risk of increased social isolation and decreased physical engagement as people become immersed in virtual or augmented experiences. These technologies may also stimulate creativity, innovation, and new forms of artistic expression. Additionally, if not everyone gets access to VR or AR technologies, the digital gap can increase, leading to differences in opportunities, employment, and education. The development and usage of realistic virtual experiences, which have the potential to blur the lines between reality and fiction, may also raise ethical questions. As VR and AR develop, it is important to carefully analyze and handle these implications, ensuring responsible adoption and maximizing the beneficial effects while reducing the negative ones.
