Creating Multimodal communications Instructions: Divide the class into groups. Each grouping will depend on the complexity of the activity. Let them think of a current social problem that needs to be addressed immediately. Then, let them plan out on how they can disseminate their projected activity in addressing such inherent social issue through the use of multimodal communications such as making a written plan, designing a poster advertisement, and crafting a video teaser/trailer for the planned activity. The products of this activity will be presented in the virtual classroom. I. Parts of a Written Plan 1.Title Page * Title of the Project * Names of the Researchers * Date of submission 2. Introduction/Rational of the Study 3. Background of the Problem (Research based) 4. Possible solutions to such social problem 5. Program of the Activity 6. Program Committee 7. Evaluation form for the effectivity of the activity 8. Program Guidelines 9. Bibliography of Citations/cited works (Books, Journals, and other scholarly written works) II. Poster Advertisement Making Components 1. Have type large enough to be viewed to 10-15 times your format width. 2. Have a simple and clear layout so your reader knows where to find the information. 3. Include all important information such as date, time, location, contact name and telephone number, sponsoring agencies. 4. Have a dominate elements such as a headline or image that will quickly catch your reader's eye. 5. Have the most important message emphasized by size, color, or value. 6. Have art that is related to the message. 7. Have the type and imagery arranged in a logical, functional sequence. III. Parts of a Video Teaser/Advertisement 1. The hook: This makes the audience sit up and pay attention. 2. The premise: A brief section that gives viewers necessary context and fleshes out the “who, what, when, where, and why” 3. The twist: Something that complicates the premise and heightens the stakes.
