Definición: Britain (Gran Bretaña) y exit (salida), y es el término acuñado para referirse a la salida de Reino Unido de la Unión Europea (UE). UK joined 1st of January 1973 but the 23rd of July 2016 the British voted to leave the EU. 1.a.Monarquía constitucional 1.b. David Cameron: promised the celebration of a referendum as a reelection promise in 2015. 51.8% voted in favor of leaving the EU. 3. Control: one of the arguments in favour is that the British would get back the control ≠ 4 fundamental freedoms. Everything started the 25th of June 2015, when the prime minister of the UK exposed his project of convoquing a referendum about the permanence of the UK in the EU at a European Council meeting. On the 10th of November, the Prime Minister David Cameron wrote a letter to the President Donald Tusk, where he stated four ambits in which he meant to accomplish reforms in the EU. In the letter, under the title of “A new settlement for the UK in a reformed EU1”, he made four proposals for the reform of the EU: 1. Economic governance: in which he stated a few principles which recognized some guarantees for non-Eurozone countries. 2. Competitiveness: regarding the Single Market further regulation. 3. Sovereignty: 3.a. he wanted to end Britain’s obligation to work towards an “ever closer union” 3.b. Secondly, to enhance the role of national parliaments so they could stop unwanted legislative proposals. 3.c.And his third aim was to see the EU’s commitments to subsidiarity fully implemented. 4. Immigration: he stated that even though they believed in an open economy, the pressures of free movement were too great for them to cope with. He stated that even though the UK was already controlling the migration from outside the EU, they needed to exert greater control on arrivals from inside the EU as well. David Cameron aspired that this letter would become the basis for reaching an agreement that would be legally-binding and irreversible. This agreement was meant open the door for a long-lasting relationship, keeping the UK inside a reformed EU. On the 7th of December 2015 the president Donald Tusk wrote a letter to the European Council about the referendum and the concerns of the British regarding the relation between the UK and the EU. Moreover, he made some annotations on the letter written by the Prime Minister a month before.
