Areas like the Garden of the Gods are filled with spectacular views. Health Care: Colorado has one of the highest-level health care systems in the United States. Here are its disadvantages: High cost of living: The cost of living in Colorado is significantly above the national average. That's why gas and transportation costs in Colorado are 6% higher than the US average. The cost of food is almost equal to the national average. Health care costs are 5% lower than the American average. Utilities in Colorado are 2% less than the US average. Colorado is one of the largest producers of natural gas in the United States, reducing the high cost of energy required to keep your home warm during cold weather.
