COMMUNICATIVE ACTIVITIES Describing people 1-Students get into twos and look at each other for a few seconds, then they ´ll stand back to back and will try to remember what each other is wearing. 2-Students pretend they are taking part in a beauty contest , bring different clothes and parade in front of the rest , the others will describe the clothes their classmates are wearing. Improvisation activities 1-Give students a situation with a conflict to solve, then they´ll play different roles and perform them for a few minutes, when you clap your hands they should turn into each other´s role immediately and continue the conversation. 2-Students get into groups of three \ four. Every st will think of a code ( place code – role code- situation code ) but they mustn´t tell the rest about them , later they will act out the situation sharing all the codes they have thought before. (example place code –bus\ role code – a teacher , an old woman , a child. \ situation code – found a bag full of money.) 3- Let students improvise different situations by saying just some phrase or sentence to the other ones and the rest will have to react to that phrase. Example: Why are you wearing my sweater?? Work on intonation first. Simple present\simple past 1-Students will listen to a sequence of sounds and they ´ll invent a story in groups. 2- Now they will bring different elements to make noises to the classroom. They will get into groups and create a story by means of different sounds. The rest of the groups will imagine what the story is about when they listen to the different sounds. 3- Give students some comic strips for them to re-tell to the rest. Divide them in groups of three \ four. 4- Divide sts into groups \pairs. Give them pictures of a story in disorder. They should order them and tell the story to the rest. 5- Give st´s a piece of paper to draw and some markers . Ask them to start dribbling all over the page using different markers, no definite forms ,just dribbling. Then tell them to find as many hidden objects as possible. Once they ´ve finished they should invent a story with the different elements\objects they have found .
