¡Descarga CORONAVIRUS monologue y más Ejercicios en PDF de Marketing solo en Docsity! CORONAVIRUS Hello, my name is Olga. I work as a civil servant in Agency of Medicines and medical devices. I would like to pass this exam because I want to get ahead and access an international position. And the topic that I have been given today is: “CORONAVIRUS” First I am going to start by talking about how the pandemic started and what are the symptoms of the disease. Then I am going to continue talking about the current situation and finally I am going to conclude with my personal opinion on what will be the future lifestyle. In December 2019, a number of pneumonia cases were reported first in Wuhan and after in others cities in China. This virus spread to other countries in the world and a new coronavirus outbreak started in Italy and Spain, then the World Health Organization declared this disease a pandemic. It was necessary to restrict the mobility of people and the government legally forced all people to stay at home, as the only possible measure to prevent the spread of the virus. The pneumonia is associated with a new type of coronavirus. It is a respiratory virus; therefore transmission is very easy through the air. The most common symptoms include fever, cough, and feeling short of breath. In some cases there may also be decreased smell and taste, headache, and general weakness. Most of the cases are mild. In more severe cases, the infection can cause pneumonia, severe difficulty breathing, kidney failure, and even death. The most serious cases generally occur in people who are elderly or have a chronic disease, such as heart, lung or immunodeficiency diseases. The pandemic is currently under control, but there is still no effective treatment or vaccine to prevent it, new rules must be met. According to the new rules, the use of a mask is necessary when a safety distance of 1.5-2 meters cannot be maintained, such as in public transport. In addition, it is necessary to continue maintaining careful hygiene, especially of the hands, washing them with soap and water. Currently, schools and universities are closed and teleworking is being prioritized ahead of face-to-face work. Many people has lost their job and the economy has been negatively affected In my opinion, a balance should be struck between protection against the virus and maintaining the economy. I think that as long as there is no vaccine or effective treatment, the new rules will remain in force.
