CURRENT AND FUTURE USE OF ENGLISH In my opinion, knowing English is something that is not entirely necessary for my career and in my country in order to study and work in the Psychological field, but is definitely helpful and enriching. Why is it helpful? First of all, because nowadays English is the global medium of communication in the professional area and, therefore, a large part of the scientific articles are written only in English. They cannot be translated via the Internet. As a result, to understand them and/or to write a new one that reaches as many people as possible, you need to know the language. Otherwise, you would have to limit the number of articles you can use and spend more time searching for valid essays. That is for me one of the most important issue currently as a student. The same happens to me with a lot of interesting videos that refer to a personality disorder, or a disease, or many other topics of psychology: that they are in English and there is no Spanish translation. In a nutshell, it is much easier to complete a certain knowledge if you know how to speak in English than if you not. Moreover, I infer that the use of English in my future career is going to be a much bigger need for me, as I am planning to move next year to the U.S., to live and to study there.
