A few years ago my family and I migrated from a small countryside region to a nearby city called Santander. The reason why we moved was because my parents wanted to start a business and they believed there were more chances of succeeding in an urban area, yet my grandfather didn’t agree at all with this decision. The other day, we went to visit him to our old house, as we used to live all together, and we had a little argument about whether it was better to live at an urban area or a rural one. He insisted that the levels of pollution in the city are too high and harmful for people, and even if my parents actually managed to earn more money there, it would be at the expense of their health. But I think he isn´t actually right about that because, although it may be true that in general pollution levels in the city are higher, our home is located next to the sea, in an area where there aren´t any factories and the traffic is not dense at all. However, we actually agreed on something too. He commented that even if you earned more in the city than in the countryside, the cost of living is much higher there, so in some way we would be almost in the same economical position, and I gave that a thought, and it´s absolutely true! The things you buy in the city cost twice as much as the ones you can buy in the countryside, I´m not just talking about products, but also houses, school, joining clubs… Everything! I also told him that, from my own life experience, that a clear advantage of living in the city is the variety of people there is. As a teenager, this is very important for me because, as many of you would know, finding your place when you are around my age can be quite a hard thing to
