Hence, implementing English in the educational system, mainly at the tertiary level, has become an inevitable necessity. Consequently, there was a high demand for English courses designed to cater to the needs of the diversified university majors such as Social Sciences and biology or English. This goal-oriented approach is achieved by teaching a particular type of English, commonly known as English for specific purposes, or simply ESP. Hutchinson and Waters (1987) have emphasized two key historical periods that gave life into ESP, The history started in World War II, during the 1981-1998 period, devoted to teacher training, vocational ESP, interlanguage, and training of teaching assistants. English for specific purposes and its importance in our context is focused on developing a high standard of everyday English communication skills when the central focus of ESP research was English for science in our contexts in education. The other reason that leads to the origin of ESP is the focus on the learner, which is, in this case, in the area of psychology. The development of educational psychology has contributed to the emergence of ESP by focusing on the learners and their learning attitudes. It was clear that different learners have different needs and interests, which will affect their learning motivation and effectiveness. It covers the four primary skills, listening, speaking, reading, and writing; also, English for specific purposes focuses on the needs of learners in their real-world contexts. According to Dudley (1987), ESP was not a ‘planned and coherent movement,’ but has emerged because of numerous unified trends because it is pragmatic in its results, the people who study English for specific purposes can: *study English for academic purpose. *English for business and management or hotel or catering English.
