Duna Cardona 8 Laura Brossa SCRIPT 1-The book title Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. 2- Author's name (a brief explanation of the period she lived=1 or 2 sentences) Mary Shelley was born on August 30, 1797, in London. She was the daughter of philosopher and political writer William Godwin and feminist Mary Wollstonecraft. Sadly, she never really knew her mother who died shortly after her birth. 3- The genre (fiction or nonfiction) (AND fantasy, mystery, science fiction, historical fiction, adventure, realistic fiction, etc.) Frankenstein is a gothic novel that belongs to horror and science fiction. 4- A description of at least two main characters The two main characters are Victor Frankenstein and the creature. Victor is obsessed with scientific achievement. He devotes all his time to his studies, sacrificing his health and his relationships for his ambition. The creature is Frankenstein's unnamed monster. He frightens everyone and he is chased out of villages and homes. Despite the creature's hideous appearance, he is a compassionate character. 5- The problem the main character has to overcome (the main conflict) Victor Frankentein discovers how to create life, and he creates a monster, however, he regrets that. So basically, he wants to get away from the monster's sight, he doesn't want to see him, but then, because of the monster's actions, he wants to kill him. Victor created a monster, which turned out evil, he tried to get away from him but later, he wanted to kill him. 6- Summarize a few details about the action of the novel (2-3 sentences each part. So, you have to summarize the 8 parts. Part 1: Walton writes a letter to his sister. He explores the North Pole. He sees a sledge pulled by dogs driven by a huge man. The next morning he finds an ill man, Victor Frankenstein, who was following the previous one. Frankenstein tells his story to Walton and he writes it. Part 2: Frankenstein's family history. Mother died. He wanted to study where life comes from. He was able to create life. He was horrified by the monster. He became ill but Henry, a friend, nursed him. He received a letter from Elizabeth, his sister, asking him to write to them. Part 3: William was strangled to death. Justine had been accused of his death because she had the locket that he was wearing, and she was hanged. Frankenstein's brother was strangled to death and an innocent woman was hanged because ofthat. Frankenstein went to a mountain and found the creature and listened to his story. And listens to the creature's story. Part 4: The creature told his journey, he lived in a hut and spied on his neighbours this way he learnt to communicate and realised he was alone. He has some issues with people. He hides in a hut. Spies his neighbours looking through a hole. Agatha, sister, young woman, Felix brother, old blind man Father. Creature lent their way to communicate, read. Safie arabic woman. Safie and the creature learn language. No one to hug. "My sadness grew with my knowledge". Part 5: The creature read Frankenstein's journal. To win the cottagers' affection was the creature's greatest ambition. He entered the cottage when the blind man was alone. They returned and ran out as soon as they saw him. He set the cottage on fire, and went looking for his creator. The creature killed William, and asked Frankenstein to create a female of his own kind. The creature tried to communicate but failed. He wanted revenge and went looking for Frankenstein to ask him to create a female of his own. Part 6: Victor will create a female if they go away. He and Cleveral visited a scientist. Victor thought that to create a female was a bad idea. He broke the promise.The creature wants revenge. Victor promised to create a wife 4 the monster, however he realised it was a bad idea and broke the promise making the monster furious. Part 7: Victor and Elizabeth got married. On that night she was murdered. Then the father died. Victor swore he would avenge his family and kill the monster. He pursued him till the North Pole, and made Walton swear that if he died he would kill the monster. Victor and Elizabeth got married that night she was murdered. He pursued the monster till the North Pole to kill him, then Victor was rescued by Walton. Part 8: The ship would return to England. He said that death was his only comfort. Frankenstein died, Walton found the monster. Finally the monster said that he would bum himself to death in the most northern point of the Earth.
