There are two main causes of obesity in our modern society: one is the overabundance of food; the other is the sedentary lifestyle of modern man. When we talk about the first, one must know that the average person needs only about 2.100 calories per day, but nowadays we are all bombarded with food advertisements which encourage us to eat more food than we need. As for the second cause of obesity, we should take into consideration that we all do not get enough physical exercise during the course of the day. We should change our everyday ways of living just by eating the right amount of food and by adding a little more exercise to our day-to-day life. It is necessary for us to become more aware that nutrition has a definitive influence on our physical and mental health since obesity is related to the origin of a lot of health problems.
