(Popular Argentinean saying) QUESTION 1 Answer “Yes” or “No” to the following questions: A) the immigration process has been important in Catalonia in the 20th and 21st century. This is clearly demonstrated by observing the population pyramid of Catalonia (year 2011). Present arguments and justify your answers. Focusing on the graphic: In this case, the population is becoming smaller. The birth rate dropped and fewer children are born. This type of population pyramid is seen in countries where urbanization has taken place and a lot of development took place recently. If the life expectancy increases the population will not become smaller immediately. This is Catalonia’s nowadays case. As the immigration is not decreasing, in fact it is growing up, the pyramid gets larger from the middle (starting on the 30 years old) of the population. B) Are there more immigration in Andorra than in Catalonia?
