Is global climate change caused by individuals? An introduction. What does global climate change mean? Global climate change refers to the average long-term changes over the entire Earth. These include warming temperatures and changes in precipitation, as well as the effects of Earth's warming, such as: Rising sea levels. DIFFERENCE: “Global warming” refers to the rise in global temperatures due mainly to the increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. “Climate change” refers to the increasing changes in the measures of climate over a long period of time – including precipitation, temperature, and wind patterns. We are going to find out if humans are the main reason behind climate change or not. Arguments in favour of the issue ( you may include data ) Defend why humans are the cause of global climate change. - There are a lot of people that still don’t recycle even though they know how beneficial it is that to prevent climate change. Also, those people say that they don’t recycle because they don’t have enough space in their houses, or basically because it is hard work and it’s not paid. It’s a fact that every year we produce 2.100 millions of tons of trash. And only 16% of all this trash is recycled. Here we have a map that shows the quantity of trash that is recycled in every country over the total produced. As we can see, Australia is the country that recycles more and Mexico is the country that recycles less. Another fact is that the United States is the country that more trash produces. - People that buy plastic: - Another reason is that a lot of people still buy plastic objects like bottles, bags even though they know how much damage plastic causes to the environment. A fact about that is that billions of tons of plastics have been on the planet over the past years and only 9% of all that plastic is recycled and the 91% remaining is becoming trash. - More private vehicles, and less public transport - Finally, the last reason is that a lot of people use private vehicles even though they have the possibility to use public transport. Nowadays the majority of families have at least one private vehicle, there are families with even two vehicles or more. It’s good to have one, but you may use it when it’s necessary, because there are a lot of people that move around the city with a car or motorbike when they can use public transport. For example in Barcelona the private vehicles are the main cause of pollution. - People that deny the climate change
