(Headlines) • Emily Hamilton: Colombia continues to experience a day of anti-government protests, which have left at least twenty-two people arrested and twenty-one police officers injured. The United States sanctions the Cuban Minister of Defense and the "black berets" for the "repression" of the protests. And also the story of Jeff Bezos, the world's richest person, who has traveled into space for the first time. • Bella Swan: Today in sports, several scandals are circulating, overshadowing the start of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Laliga's eyes that take care of the details in every match, from Laliga Santander and Laliga SmartBank. All this in minutes. • Emma Corrin: And in celebrity news, Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes were robbed in their Los Angeles home. And something historic, Halsey became a mom: "The rarest and most euphoric birth". (News) • Emily Hamilton: The protests that continue in Colombia have left many injured, both police and protesters. Some of them who are protesting peacefully are getting caught up in those protesters who want to make them look bad. Below from the northern part of Bogota where one of these protests is taking place, our journalist Edward Jackson, will tell us how some of the protesters who are asserting their right in peace feel. • Edward Jackson: Of course, yes, here we meet Julieth Orozco, a young university student who studies languages and is also a Protestant. And tell me Julieth, what do you think about the violent protests that are happening here in Bogota? • Julieth Orozco: It seems to me that it is not the best way to act in the face of the different outrages that we young people have suffered at the hands of the police, thanks to those protesters who cause disturbances. Because other young people like us, we continue protesting in a peaceful manner, for our interests, since this government wants to impose something that harms us all. • Edward Jackson: And well Emily this is what some of the protesters think. Here from Bogota for ABC News! Edward Jackson. • Emily Hamilton: Thanks Edward. And the president of the United States, Joe Biden, has decided this Thursday to further toughen relations with Cuba. The Treasury Department announced individual sanctions against members of the Castro regime directly involved in the repression of the demonstrations on July 11 that demanded the end of the dictatorship and denounced the shortage of medicines and food on the island. Specifically, they sanction the Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) of Cuba, Álvaro López Miera, and the military unit known as 'black berets'.
