She is known for her penetrating insight; her work deals with dark themes such as betrayal, death and the origin of human evil. In 1990,Recorded Texas Historic Landmark number 2905 was placed in Brown County, Texas to honor the life and career of Porter Indian creek, kyle The landscape and characters etc are associated with the south, texas Flowering Judas It was published in 1830 andshe goes alone with this new social environment.. She conects very well the american experienca and the lexical experience. Significant aspects in her: -The contrast with others, she catholic a woman, it was determinant for the topics, as catholic, she was educated in a catholic school and F.Judas is a result of this education. Her relation with Mexico is here as she was an school teacher in Mexico, and her life is characterized by traveling and as a writer she involved in holliwood Industry. She followed other writers as Fitzgerald but most of her characters are situated or related to the shoutern part of mexico, she is a regionalist, she prefers to be a psicological writer. In F.Judas, she shows a brillant precision of level in the analisis of these characters. She is more psicological than regionalist. She examines the unconcious thoughts of the characters and determine the human behaviour. There are some relevant aspects in her career: -She wrote about evil, and the rol of evil in human beings, the struggle of God and Evil, it is the basic conflict in her stories. -she is interested in racial types, conflicts, and the main struggles between anglo saxon temperament and as mexican inmigrant. It is also found in F.J, the puritanism vs catholicism. -she tend to delete, leftist in political level, she is combination of liberal and catholic, liberal as socialism, comunism, she is a contrast between the catholic background as her lefties tendence. This humanitarian liberalism and profund sense of evil (sin) So this makes critics think about Laura as an autobiography of her life. Laura is presented as the heroin, and reapears in other stories in 1930 F.j published and it was the most significant work of her, a simple story but not simplicity. Laura is an American girl who teaches in Mexico, characterized by her lefties humanitarian principles and she has become involved in Braggioni (revolutionist man) He is in charge of the revolutionarian organization and falls in love with her. She teaches in Mexico and she is deeply anglosaxon. She feels attracted by him, and this makes her to become more concious of the guilt, that she is commiting a sin, this is increased by the political tendence she has. He is a man constantly betraying his own workers and this cynical man become as her counterpart, his negative side. The climax is when she helps another man Eugenio in prision, as workers are in prision. Lastt line: necessary a sacrifice, she accepts the faith of man is suffering Religious way: background always is imposed in her mind Sshe knows many people and she has a political compromise with society. This becomes dissapointed for her. To justify the evil including herself, Braggioni speaks ''you'' poor thing, you will be dissapointed.... This shows the ability of evil in all human beings. She is anglo saxon and she is compared with other cynical people not so religious as she. In F.J, there is a controversy in this man, as using other men because of his cynical means. The protagonist is mystical, naive. Topics: one of the most typical in Katherine A.P: -Betrayal in life, it is the concep she develops. The hostility and frustration, in both levels, materialistic and spiritual. Katherine: was concerned with the south, Texas and she was connected to Mexico for her life as she was teacher there. Betrayal related to social needs. It is a symbolic reading, the story tries to fuse a christian atmosphere, with this materalistic perception, the betrayal of the workers.. there is a sacrifice.. the language and characters give the idea of betrayal of the meterialistic and spiritual. There are two main protagonist: Laura and Braggioni They oppose each other, but also they are vry similar. -Braggioni is defined three times, he is a man who loves himself.. He is always involve in welfare, honorable welfare. -Proffessional lover of humanity, because of his proffession, he has no felings. -he will never die for it, world saviours Like Christ..apparently he is who defends them as christ, whit spiritualist and social issues. His hostility, is outward and open, he is always in contact with other people, in contrast with Laura, turning inward herself. She is not at home in the world 2definitions: -He is an External man -she remains within herself But they share something, they are revolutionist but their roles in oppisition to become involved is because of the concept of Love. Laura has an ambivalent feeling of herself. Death, associate female character as murdered, as judas. But both conspire in revolutiionazing life and concerned wwith role of love. How inocents, naives, provokes that they follow different direcctions, and it is apllied to laura with her mistical aspirations, love, she turnes int o evil, she is an idealist and it is projected in Mexican revolution. Katherine= is a catholic woman, involved in mexican revolution, she converts to a different religion which is to defend workers. Mexican revolution as it achieved independence from Spain. The socialist justice is present everywhere and it was something unknown to the church in that period. She lost her naivety in this new reality and she takes many forms. She remains intact at one level, she is virgin.
