Objective: Identify when the participant stutters the most. *The teacher asked the participant to talk about a normal day in his life. *The participant only talked in simple present but still making some grammatical errors. *When he tries to express his ideas, thinks a lot on what to say and makes long pauses while repeating only the subject ‘I’ and sometimes articles and verbs. *The teacher helped him to improve the little grammatical errors he made. *The student showed confidence when talking even though he stutters tried to do his best. Transcription: Teacher: Tell me about a normal day in your life. Participant: I… I… ah… I wake up at ss… at six… I… I feed my pets… mm… I… I do my homework… I connect to… no… ah I… I am… in class… mmm I am in class… to no… at 7 to… to 2… 2… 2:20, 2:20 aha… 2:20 pm… I… I rest mm one hour. I do exercises… mmm I… I play with my brother a little… mmm… I… I… I help my mother… my mother clean…with… with bathroom. Week 2 Time: 2 hrs. Objective: Notice the pattern he follows when stutters. *The student struggles remembering some verbs and grammar structure although his pronunciation is good. *He tries to remember the grammatical structure by his own and it’s when starts to stutter which most of the times are articles and sometimes verbs. *He stutters in the middle of the sentence. *I showed him three different images and he described them only in present progressive but making grammatical errors because his L1. *He remembers only basic vocabulary. *Even though he did remember much vocabulary, the teacher helped him to remember them, so he felt supported. Transcription: Teacher: What do you see? Participant: I see… A… a family with… with daughter and… and the mom is… no… the mom is teaching… eh…ah… her… her daughter? *The teacher asks the same question with the same picture* Participant: I see a mom is teaching a daughter… ah no… her daughter… mmmm the… the… the daughter is learn… is learning… eh to… is learning to… to read. Week 3 Time: 2 hrs. Objective: Notice how much he stutters when remembering something. *I gave him a review about the present progressive tense, so he can remember better the structure of sentences. *The teacher asked him to say what he remembers about the images from last week, in order to work his short-term memory. *His short-term memory is regular. He remembers well the images but still make errors on grammar. *Even though the participant is not very fluent in English, he lost afraid of talking in English and did not stutter that much. *He did not use the present progressive to talk about memories. Transcription: Teacher: What do you remember from the first picture? Participant: I remember the first picture is… a… a… a mother… a… a mother… a mother was teaching a… a daughter… a… to… to read. Week 4 Time: 2hrs. Objective: Prove if with reviewing verb tenses he stutters less. *The participant started to show improvement when talking about memories using the past progressive to express them. He did not make much grammatical errors. *The teacher asked him about the images used on week 2 and the participant showed improvement on his disfluency. *The teacher notice that the participant knows the tenses but struggles with small details, such as the articles. *The participant showed confidence and did not stutter as in week 1. Transcription: Teacher: What do you remember from the second picture? Participant: I remember that a father and mother… ah… ah… father and mother were teaching a son to walk… to walk… aha to walk in a beach. Aha
