Up to now, the sexual drives have been mainly investigated, which have been observed in isolation in psychoneuroses. These sexual drives are diverse and originate from multiple organic sources. At the outset, they operate independently of each other and only later come together in a more or less complete synthesis. The primary objective of each sexual drive is to achieve organic pleasure before these drives become helpful to the function of reproduction. Throughout life, some sexual drives continue to be associated with ego drives, providing them with libidinous components that normally go unnoticed. Only in situations of mental illness can these components come to the surface. These sexual drives are distinguished by their ability to act vicariously with respect to each other, easily exchanging their objects of desire (object changes). In addition, because of these properties, the sexual drives are prepared to carry out operatio ns that are far removed from their original goals (sublimation). In summary, while psychoanalysis has made significant advances in the understanding of sexual drives, exploring ego drives an d other types of neurotic affectations will offer a more challenging and less conducive terrain for detailed observation. Explanation and conclusion: The text addresses the difficulties that psychoanalysis faces when trying to understand drives through consciousness. Because of these difficulties, the main focus of psychoanalysis has been the study of disturbances of the soul, especially through the observation of sexual drives in contexts such as psychoneuroses. These sexual drives are characterized by their diversity and th eir origin in multiple organic sources. Initially, they operate independently before being integrated into a more complete synthesis. The fundamental goal of every sexual drive is to achieve organic pleasure, although over time some drives can become libidino us components that support the functions of the self. These libidinal aspects usually remain latent, emerging only in cases of mental illness. Sexual drives stand out for their ability to act vicariously on each other, exchanging objects of desire in a fluid way (object changes). This flexibility allows them to perform operations that can stray significantly from their original goals, a process k nown as sublimation. In conclusion, although psychoanalysis has made considerable progress in the understanding of sexual drives, exploring ego dr ives and other forms of neurotic affectations represents a greater challenge because of conditions less favorable for detailed observation. This field of study remains crucial for a more complete understanding of human behavior and psychological dynami cs.
