GAMLA STAN (THE OLD TOWN) Gamla Stan is a neighborhood full of cobbled streets and old buildings, which breathe a unique aroma of history. Among the most important buildings are the Town Hall, the Royal Palace and the Parliament. GRÖNA LUND The oldest amusement park in Sweden, and although Gröna Lund first opened in 1883, it has managed to keep up. They release new roller coasters and attractions every few years, like the Insane, a high-speed ride that you'll take upside down. Another notable attraction is the Eclipse: like a merry-go-round that rises to a high altitude offering you a dizzying view of Stockholm! VASA MUSEUM The Vasa Museum in Stockholm owes its fame to the warship of the same name (the only one in the world from the 17th century that still survives intact). It is located on the island of Djurgården. It was inaugurated in 1990 and since then it has become an extremely popular site; in fact it is the most visited museum in Scandinavia. ROYAL PALACE Among the most interesting things to visit in Stockholm we must consider the Royal Palace. A place where you can discover the history of the Swedish royal family. The Royal Palace of Stockholm is one of the most beautiful palaces in the country, an essential visit. SKANSEN The Skansen is an open-air museum that was created in 1891 and shows five centuries of Swedish history. For a better understanding of the visitor, this museum has flesh and blood characters in period costumes performing different roles. NOBELMUSEET This museum does not give you the history of the awards, but also houses numerous exhibits focusing on themes related to the various award categories and the ceremony itself. MUSEUM OF MODERN ART At the Moderna Museet in Stockholm you can immerse yourself in one of the most important art collections in Europe from the 20th century to the present day, with works by such famous artists as Picasso, Dalí, Derkert and Matisse. The museum exhibits from the modern classics to contemporary art, including films, photographs, drawings, engravings and whimsical outdoor sculptures.
