What is migration in Europe like? · Made by: Diego Martín Roldán Iago Soler Viñas Zhenyuu 3ºESO B Index 1.-Introduction 2.-Historic Context 3.-Topic Point 3.1 The first european migrations 3.2 When did migrationsto Western Europe begin 3.3 What iscurrently happening in Europe 3.3.1 The free moviments of workers 3.3.2 New waves to Southern Europe 3.3.3 Arrival of refugees 4.-Conclusion 5.-Bibliography and Webgraphy 6.-Anexos 2.When did the immigration to western Europe Begin Migration in Western Europe began in the 19th century, the EEC was created in 1957 when many countries needed workers such as France, Germany, etc. These countries were the largest recipients of workers, receiving a large number of 15 million people from Europe and North Africa. Why did they emigrate to those specific countries? Because they emigrated to those countries, such as Spain, which was experiencing a dictatorship, or those located in North Africa, which were in poor living conditions, they looked for countries with good economic and social stability to which to emigrate. What is the EEC? “The European Economic Community (EEC) is a union that was created in 1957, in the Treaty of Rome. The objective of the Community was to achieve economic integration, including a common market and customs union, among its founding members.” (Wikipedia, Comunidad Economica Europea) 3.What is currently happening in Europe The fee moviment of workers In recent years there has been a large increase in migration between European countries, these movements are generated for the most part by workers from the European Union who are constantly migrating throughout Europe thanks to their work and Germany is the main destination of all these migrations. Why is Germany the main destination for this type of migration? Because there in Germany is the capital of the EU, which is Brussels. New waves to Southern Europe “In recent years, workers have been arriving from all over central and eastern Europe. Currently, many foreigners are targeting places in southern Europe, such as Spain, Italy or Portugal. Immigrants usually come from places like South America, Asia or Central Africa. Finally, there have been several war conflicts in the Middle East and North Africa, such as those between Ukraine and Russia, which have recently caused people who leave the country to need shelter.” (Book , Vicens Vives PAG 47 Autor : Jesus Dominguez Castillo 2015) Arrival of refuges Due to the conflict in Russia and political unrest in the Middle East and Africa, migration has increased a lot in recent months, it has caused many people to want to leave their country to a country where they are safe, in a country where they can live in peace, as now there are many immigrants who want to enter another country and do not have papers in that country, a series of measures have been created so that they can enter without any problem and this has also created a humanitarian crisis that is very difficult for them. arrive and settle in that country. Why is there so much migration in Europe? “Migrations from developing countries to Europe have been a very common phenomenon over the years. This flow of migrants has taken place for very diverse reasons - political, socioeconomic, family, cultural or war - and by different means..” (Handle Autor: Onís Romero-Requejo,,2019) Which is the country that receives the most immigrants in Europe? “In 2019, the highest number of emigrants was registered in Germany (576,000 people.” . (INSTITUTO NACIONAL DE ESTADISTICA 2019) Conclusion: In conclusion we have that migration is not something old but a fairly current practice since we now have the means to be able to migrate from one country to another. Migration is good and bad at the same time because if there is a lot of population in a country and they migrate to another, then that benefits them, but if the case were that from a poorly developed country that needs even more for them to evolve and they leave, on top of that they still leave. pass with overlap Well, the two countries would not benefit at all, in addition, migration is also good because there are countries in which there are too many workers and those workers go to another country to be able to occupy those jobs and that country has more workers and there is not so much inequality between those countries and there are also people who, because of a bad situation in their country, emigrate from one country to another with better conditions but enter the country illegally and if they are caught, that person could end up in jail and with a criminal record. Bibliography and Webgraphy The migration in Europe is a phenomenon with a long tradition. In the last 150years, it has increased significantly. This is due to the demographic ,economic, social and political transformations that have taken place. (book geography and history , Vicens Vives PAG 46 Autor: Jesus Dominguez Castillo 2015) https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emigraci%C3%B3n_europea The main causes of this migration were the indrustrial Revolution and population growth in Europr. In addition, the development of transport and communication system made travel faster and easier.
